1/3 super soil too hot, is SS flushable?

Hey folks, I used a little too much super soil on a plant (The only seed from this pack that didnt love the Super soil) and I was wondering if Flushing this plant out would have any effect on it. I know that the majority of the nutrients come from solids that would not be removed from the soil, but could flushing help? If not I'm going to have to chop it down, which I do not want to do after all this veg time, but imo thats better than fighting a battle during flowering that I can not win.

Have any of you rui members tried to flush super soil successfully, when there was too much of it in a pot with a sensitive plant?

Flushing isnt going to happen, it will probably make the issue worse. How long has the plant been over-nuted?

Do you have any pics?

How bad is it burnt?

I notice Ill get some light burning on some plants but they grow into it and come back stronger once the roots work their way deeper into the SS.

retransplant. Might kill it anyways but if you take it out and wash some super soil off and put it back into base soil you should be okay.

Its slightly burnt in a few places, but you can hardly see burnt areas. It does however have droopy leaves, its very dark green, and the leaves feel pretty crispy. I have eliminated all causes of this except over fertilization. I kept waiting to see if it would change for the better before i went 12/12, but it has not. Lastly, its in an 8gal pot and has been vegging a while (64 days), so I dont think transplanting would be an option at this point, so if flushing does not help any, I will probably just chop it down.

I will post pics tonight when the lights come on.

Did they show up all in a short period of time like within 3 days of each spot showing or has it been slowly getting worse over like a week or two?

bro, don't cut it down!........take it out of the pot, root prune it, repot it, then prune the plant way back....it will set her back, but she will be fine....they are tough as hell.

Its looked pretty close to this the entire grow....crispy leaves, dark green foliage, thats curled under.

Yall think if i transplanted it into a similar size pot, after shaking the roots off that would work? In case yall think its water stress, I water the plant when the pots feel light, and easy to pick up. I usually water until I see just a LITTLE run off.

If transplanting is my only option besides cutting it down, do yall have any pointers regarding transplanting something this old?

I agree when organics goes bad it is bad, hard to fix, can't flush the nutes out. let her grow some buds, no sense in choping it down, the picture looks like what happened when i let a Plant go too dry before watering, but in the end it was good smoke

it might look like hell, but they still finish in that condition...we have all done it once or twice...lol. I have one strain that always finishes looking like this...she is jut too darn nute sensitive though.

...the story is indeed in the leaves.....

The following quote comes from another RIU member (Uncle Ben). While he seems like a hostile old coot, he does know his shit, and I would take his advice as accurate:

"Upcanning (repotting) - Score the rootball - pop the ball out and using a razor blade or sharp knife insert it about ½" into the rootball at the top and slice thru the exposed roots from top to bottom concentrating on any root spinout at the bottom. Rotate the rootball and do this about 4 times. Bury the “trunk” as deep as you can even if it means pulling off some of the lower leafsets. This will induce root output all along the buried trunk."

ll, I feel like a total freaking idiot now.... I repotted the plant yesterday, and I found the bottom of the smaller airpot it was in before transplanting, right in the middle of my 8gal pot.... I removed it, a fair amount of soil, and topped it in 6 places, then removed the underbrush and repotted it back into the same pot, with less SS. I think that this air pot bottom was the problem all along, and why it was showing what looked like water stress all the time.

I guess I need to lay off the bowl while im transplanting stuff...

fyi for the future.. i use 4lbs instead of 5lbs of the main ingredients and saw much better results.. i fill 2/3 of the pot with supersoil before transplanting into flower. and my plant leaves begin to lightly fade to a lighter green around day 49.. perfect timing for a day 56-63 day chop.

Kind of looks to me like you have some pH flux issue that has gone on as well based on the leaf curling. If it were me, I'd uppot to a bigger pot if available -- if not it's not dieing just ride it out. Are you checking pH of your water/nutes?

Instead of watering enough for a little run off try watering with alot of water and collect some of that water and test ph. See what the ph is coming out of the soil , it will tell u lots. Flushing will help , it will atleast wash away excess nutrients. Keep flushing plants weekly until leaf curl dissapears , usually occurs from excessive nitrogen. But fuck man dont kill it , nice and green and big, like i said flush until leaf curl dissapears and u will be good 2 go.
