1, 3, 5 leaf

What does it mean when the leafs go lower? does this mean its going into preflower? sometimes when my plants are in veg they go into 3 and sometimes 1 leaf but still stay in veg. I notice the stem gets really weak. I have no clue on what is going on. Its under 18/6 light so it shouldn't go into preflower. Sometime it just one leaf then it changes. What is happening?

ok so if your growing leaves that have one blade then yes you are reveging or need more light. if your growing skinny 3 bladed leaves, your good probably. its genetic.

i just seen the final sentense in your op. i need a picture. or a better explanation of whats happening.

I just took some pics.. what do you mean the one leaf is not good? it will still flower at this point wouldn't it?

Nope I have about 6 strains.. mostly the one's the isn't receiving enough light is one blade.. but its not going into flower.. its still in veg.. stays like this until it reaches 3 blades.. if i give it enough light it will be back in veg I think, but I don't have enough space. So I'm wondering if it vegs with 3 or even 1 blade is it okay?? the buds will still come out like if it was a normal leaf right? am I doing anything wrong by vegging with 1 or 3 blades?

If you don't have enough light, just throw them outside and when you want to flower, give it 12 hrs. of dark.

it WILL affest the plants yield, potency etc....

you certainly wanna get more light.

Ok, what is going on. As the plant goes deeper into flower, it will lose blades. When it is deepest in flower, it will only have one blade per leaf.

The deeper a plant goes into VEG the MORE blades per fan leaf it has. A sativa months into veg could have as many as 13 or more blades per leaf. Indica usually tap out around 5-7...

1 Blade = Deep Flower
13 Blades = Deep VEG

As the plant grows and matures throughout veg it will increase the amount of blades on each fan leaf.
Then you switch the lights and the new growth starts to lose blades per fan leaf.
When you harvest and re-veg your plant, you will notice that the new growth will have an increasing amount of blades per leaf. When it reaches 5 blades per fan leaf of new growth, the plant is re-vegged long enough to re-flower.

I realize in my first post, i might have needed to explain that it pertains to the "new growth". The older fan leaves won't change their count depending on the stage in the plants life. The blade count is a variable that changes with time. They usually stick to ODD numbers and the numbers increase as the plant matures through veg and decrease as it matures through bloom. It usually doesn't get higher than 13 and doesn't go lower than 1.

i see what your saying and about the reveg it seems right but im having a hard time with the bolded sentence.

You have vegged for a month.
Each fan leaf of new growth is having 7 blades per fan leaf.
You switch to 12/12.
The plant is now flowering.
Each fan leaf of new growth now shows 5 blades per fan leaf.
The next week you notice 3 blades per fan leaf.
Then only 1. And you also notice they are all buds at the tops. Not really any new growth going to happen.
Then you start to re-veg.
Shoots come from ever where with 3 blades per fan leaf. Maybe two. It gets weird.

Edit: Hope that made a little more sense. Let me know how crappy my explanations are.
