we could get the price of gas down again by simply crashing the living shit out of the economy, a la shrub.

i have said it before and said it again, only a partisan hack truly believes that the president controls the price of gas in any way.

if you actually do believe that, michelle bachmann is your candidate. she promised $2 gas.

how does obama control the price of things?
He controls the price of gas by putting moratoriums on gulf drilling, oil pipelines, new oil exploration leases, giving billions of dollars in loans to foreign governments like Brazil to develop oil wells, Obamacare, financial reform, higher EPA standards, reclassifying carbon dioxide as a hazardous gas, etc...

he could lower the price of gas by reverting to conservative, bush-era policies that will inevitably crash the entire economy.

i mean, millions would lose work and demand for gas would drop, thereby lowering the price.

He could also do it by allowing more exploration and drilling in America...

you are aware that such practices do nothing to lower the price of gas, we export it to the highest bidder generally.

ya know, basic economics.

Supply and demand... Ya know, basic economics...
yep. any new oil we find, we ship off to the highest bidder and we continue to buy from the lowest seller.

all the domestic oil exploration in the world doesn't change this.

Supply of oil isn't a problem in the US. We refine and export a large portion of the oil we import
