Super Soil Results

Has anyone used water around 150 ppm with super soil? If so how did it turn out? Thinking about trying super soil but didn't want to buy an RO system if I didn't have to. Any and all advice would be very helpful.
My ppm is between 50 and 60, but a 150 ppm I believe is IDEAL on the low side upto 225-250 ppm on the high side. I add a little bit more of lime to my pots, and a handful of supersoil around 4-5 weeks in bloom to get me by (I use 2 gallon pots though). A bottle of Cal-Mag+ is good to have around, also molasses in water.
In your case with the 150 ppm's, some Molasses should get you by if needed at all. I find that my plants show a lack of Magnesium before they ever show a calcium def. and I go from there.

I hope this helps, and do what ever works for you.

Thanks stowandgrow. I am very excited about this Durban. I'm sort of doing her as a test run for a Denver area seed company thinking about offering her as a fem seed. This one was grown from fem seed and is a close copy to mom. So far the kids fall in two phenos, one long flowering (12+ weeks) and this one that finishes under 10 weeks.

Thanks for asking about the Kali Mist. She turned out very nice! I'm trying not to smoke much of her because she's a bit early in cure (1 month in the jar), but the smell is coming on as a nice over-ripe grapefruit. I did make a lot of hash tincture from her and have been enjoying that daily. Very clear-headed and motivational.

right on

I wasn't sure if anyone, mainly you, had noticed it on ebay and had some legal ground to get them to stop. It's how people work obviously but some BS someone is selling your recipe. Again, i haven't matched them up but looks like they just copied your mix exactly. On top of that, i found some other guy selling a super soil mix on ebay, so 2 of em with your mix.

Can't wait till you get yours going, even being in the midwest id pay for YOUR mix and shipping any time.

I've been growing for a few years and have in the last year switched to the super soil mix and have had fantastic results. I typically grow Agent Orange and I use about 2/3rds supersoil in 10 gallon pots while adding 2 lbs. of kelp meal or greensand to the mix. Since the change to the 10 gallon and adding the Kelp Meal my buds start are bigger and tastier. 8 plants grown under 2 1000w HPS lights. The plants in this photo aren't identical since I recently purchased 10 more Agent Orange seeds to try to get a better pheno.
I also grow several strains of tomatoes in my garden. Purple Cherokee is my fav but I have a new blue tomato from Oregon.... alas I diverge. I started spreading several inches of high quality mulch across my entire garden and my yields go through the roof, I don't have to water as often with many other benefits. My results were so amazing I decided to do it with my Agent. I spread two inches of top quality mulch, including cedar for pest resistance, and baked it in my oven for 20 min at 250F to kill off any pests.
Has anyone ever put mulch on top in the pots or heard of anyone doing it?

For the mulch, I just went to my local shredded bark farm and purchased a bag of mixed undyed wood. Pine, Cedar and Fur were the three mine had. One bag easily did 9 plants. Even a bag from home depot would work as long as its not dyed. And unless you want you're house to smell like musky wood don't bake it. lol. It works, just smells a bit.

have you tested the acidity of the bark mix, my only concern would be watering through it, and potentially altering my ph.....bark can be intense....you can tan hides with it!

Great point. Bark is not ideal, you really don't want any bark in the mix, only wood. It was just at the shredded bark farm I purchased the stuff. And ever since I started using supersoil I actually never worry or measure my pH. If the soil contains a great buffer than the pH should not be an issue, and supersoil has a fantastic buffer after letting it sit for several weeks. At least that is what I have experienced in my growing. I can grow both blueberries and swiss chard next to each other in a supersoil style garden while one is very acidic and the other very alkaline.
