New Technology for grow room electricity?

Again we need to separate 2 things: Energetic efficiency, and commercial feasibility. The videos explains quite well in my opinion why it would be both energetically and environmentally better to grow crops outdoors and drive them several hundreds miles in a truck to urban centers for...

New Technology for grow room electricity?

Here's a very nice lecture, if you're interested: This is just a glance, but he talks a little about numbers. Bruce is a very nice guy, I met him once in a conference when I was still working on my PhD.

New Technology for grow room electricity?

Purely in terms of energetic efficiency all current scientific evidence is showing the opposite, for most latitudes. In terms of financial feasibility, market economy and supply and demand, indoor farming can be, and is still very feasible, for a large number of crops.

New Technology for grow room electricity?

Of course the main limitation for indoor growers these days has nothing to do with energy, but with privacy and discretion.

New Technology for grow room electricity?

Those are very different scales though. Pound per pound, in most latitudes a climate controlled greenhouse will always be more efficient than indoor. Whatever design and technology you apply to your grow room you can also apply to your greenhouse, and use it less than half the time. What's...

New Technology for grow room electricity?

Growing rooms running on solar is a terrible waste and very foolish. If you have enough land and money for a solar array and battery bank you might as well grow in a greenhouse. The sunlight's price is hard to beat - it's free. The only reason to grow indoors is extremely hostile climate...

Who you gonna call? Myth busters!

I don't really think there's much to tell, just google UK cannabis and this is what you find: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1329018/Pictured-Britains-biggest-cannabis-farm--2m-worth-weed.html 8000 plants in one farm. http://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/article/cannabis-farms-london-vietnam...

it might seem like a lot, but when you buy something with bitcoin it ends up being way cheaper both for you and for the vendor. 10%-15% cheaper on purse.io for example.

Who you gonna call? Myth busters!

Don't take it personally mate :) I'm not talking about quality. In sheer quantity the amounts home growers grow are a drop in the ocean. If you've ever seen those cannabis slave farms when they find one, they have hundreds, thousands of plants in each one, and hundreds and thousands of farms...

Who you gonna call? Myth busters!

Actually the street Cannabis in Europe is mostly what is grown in bulk either by Vietnamese organized crime who use kid slaves or Middle-Eastern organized crime which uses refugee slaves. In percentages what is grown by home growers is a very small fraction.

Pic of a cool OG Kush seedling

I don't disagree, I definitely think the pharma industry will push as much as they can to squeeze as many dollars as they can out of the plant and the legalization, and that's not necessarily all bad. If they can isolate a molecule, make a pill and patent it - good for them. It will expire in...
