    DIY build with PC fans?

100% Bullshit. PC Fans are brushless motors and normal/cheap ventilators are shaded-pole motors aka. one of the most unefficient electrical motors currently available. Just compare the specs yourself and you will see how efficient PC fans are.

2x50W cxb3590 enough for little plant in 60x60x140cm tent?

Junge junge, dreister gehts echt nimmer.

    New style Samsung LM561C Board

    A = LM561C S6 B = LM561C S5 or also S6 C = LM561B D = LM561B+ E = LM561C S6 ? Very interesting quiz :) . Thanks for making these pics!

    New style Samsung LM561C Board

Wow, congrats guys! I would love to read a blog post/big post about this story... like who contacted who, how is it to deal with such a big company, why are they doing it in general (more than a niche?!) and why do they partner with HLG? Thinks like that. :)

    New style Samsung LM561C Board

https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/pages/qb288-board-guide Divide the Lumen/W value trough the LER (321 lm/W) to get efficiency. Eg. 170 lm/W / 321 lm/W = 0,5295 = 52,95 %. And LM561Y.... someone has to send this PDF to Samsung. I highly suspect this to be fake as fuck.

    New style Samsung LM561C Board

    Its funny that they sphere test their boards.... Radiant power: 51,247 W Electrical power: 130,7 1W Efficiency= Radiant power / Electrical power = 51,247 / 130,7 = 0,392 = 39,2 % A HLG QB 288 is at 53 %@129 W. Or 26 % more effective....

NEED HELP - Large Scale LED Panel For Photo/Video

Nice project, but it seams like you haven't really thought about color quality which is VERY important for your case! Xicato has some good papers on that topic. High color quality LED series that I have tested: Xicato Vibrant V95 (3000K, just perfect), Xicato Beauty Series (2700K, perfect if...

    LED light intensity

Imo this is not 100 % true: 1000 green photons are just as usable to the plant as 1000 red photons from an photosynthetic point of view BUT as the leafs are able to absorb red far better then green, 1000 EMITTED red photons are more useful to the plant....

CRI test and Mcree weighted results

Hmmm these ones are basically two normal Oslons SSLs in one package... must have beefy chips (would love to see a die shot!)... (Datasheet: https://dammedia.osram.info/media/resource/hires/osram-dam-5066839/GH%20CSSRM2.24_EN.pdf .... osrams page... jesus fucking christ, worst website in the...

CRI test and Mcree weighted results

With hyper reds it really depends on the bin you get imo. And they are expensive. Osrams top bin pushs out 3.91 µmol/J @ 350 mA. Thats already better than a phosphor converted LED physically (at least with my understanding) can be (3.7 µmol/J @ 100 % efficient)...

CRI test and Mcree weighted results

Yeah, wow, a weighing factor of 0.4 to 0. So that is the big pro argument for CRI90 LEDs? Besides that: The RQE chart is just one thing. Leaf absorption chart the other. Combine these two to get a proper, meaningful action spectrum and realise that CRI90 LEDs are pretty wasteful....I mean...

These photons do not drive photosynthesis so its useless for a PAR (Photosynthetic active radiation!) meter to count them!

Adding deep & far reds to Quantum Board build

Search for "The math behind" thread by @alesh :) . You need a Digitizer (https://automeris.io/WebPlotDigitizer/), Excel and a lot of time. This stuff is complicated. (If you calculate with LER/QER, take the time to calc by hand and write down the units! This really helped me a lot in understand...

Adding deep & far reds to Quantum Board build

Thanks for pointing that out. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF PHOTONS! Check the reaction equation of photosynthesis and read up on both photosystems. 660 nm does nothing magical except driving photosynthesis. A 660 nm photon just has the minimal amount of energy needed for the photo reaction...

Adding deep & far reds to Quantum Board build

A general tip: If you are interested in reading scientific papers but do not have access e.g. via university, you can use Sci-Hub to access it for free. There a several domains, I mainly use www.sci-hub.tw but sometimes it's down then I use an alternative. Just copy the DOI from e.g...
