A heat mat can really be helpful with heating the soil up for fast germination, the faster the germination and the plant starts growing, the less likely to dampen off as well.

I'm not sure about vacuum curing weed, but I use my vacuum sealer all the time for venison and other game and chickens I harvest as well. It's very useful in the food world. I think Mexican brick weed used to come vacuum sealed back in the day.

I've noticed that hastily trimmed weed that may have some stem sticking out can compromise the bags as well.

A brown river isn't necessarily polluted, it may have to do with sediment or the make up of the ground under and around the river. It's also possible it's just dirty as hell lol.

What are you running for temps/lights/air filtration/ipm/watering/growing media/ etc...

It looks pretty good to me. If you're adding microbes as well you probably really don't have to worry about pH.
