I ran 12 x 26w mixed cfl. Day 64. The only thing I ever grew before this was hair and fingernails. Coco perlite 5litre pots. Easy but requires patience.

Don't rush, and don't fry them with the big light. I use 12 x 26w cfl. Mixed 3500/6500K.

The 2 in the back are 10 days younger. I germinated them in error. Thought I killed the first one during a transplant.

When they start to flower do some low stress training LST. "Gently" pull branches down with plant wire, the rubber stuff. Let's light into the middle of plant. As a newbie I didn't want to try all the advanced grow stuff. When using nutrients reduce by 25-30% from manufacturer recommended.

Thanks 4 reply. Bulbs were $5 each. I'm a scrounger. Currently run 2 plants 10x26w CFL. Mixed 3500/6500k. Works so far. Same store had 500 and 1000 watt for $20 (habitat4humanity)

Found in thrift recycle store 100w mh bulbs mogul base, cheap. Can 2 of them be fired up by only one ballast circuit? Spec sheet says 8000 lumens per bulb. Worth scavenging?

I understand your point. Re: glaciers, I was in western Canada several years ago and had a photo taken with a friend of where it was in 1948. By 2010 it had shrunk many kilometers back up the mountains. It was what was left of the Columbia ice field. I was shocked.

On the positive side, melting sea ice raises ocean levels and makes more seaside property for sale. Too bad about the properties that sunk. Think I'll move to higher ground.

Get the CFLs as close as possible 5cm, 2"" your side of the fence. Reflectors help, I used a foil turkey pan. Necessity is the mother of invention.

More light! 18/6 maybe 20/4. Careful on the water. I found that if I think they need water, wait till the next day. When you get the big lights don't cook'em.
