Is that 14mm or 18mm stem? It looks narrow, like a 14mm. There's backpressure wherever there's a narrow channel like the skinny stem you have... maybe look into different stems if its a 18mm there are tons, 14mm is getting less popular. I started collecting different bowls, I'm up to about 30...

Sounds like you did it right, I will supercrop after the initial stretch to even out the canopy, any stunting of growth to the top will promote growth to the branches, good luck.
