Lower leaf death and Clawing in Week 4 12/12 , no Nitrogen in weeks, temps 65-81F

If CalMag is locked or deficient then it may affect other elements, but I was under the impression that eagles claw was from Nitrogen overdose...even tho that is impossible in my case.

Lower leaf death and Clawing in Week 4 12/12 , no Nitrogen in weeks, temps 65-81F

In week 4 of 12/12, 15 plants, 50-55%RH, on a flood table, some affected some not. Temps never above 81 or below 65. Res temp at 65 with a chiller. GH 3 part, tap water, pH, DM Zone, 1.5ml/35gal Physan20, monster bloom 1/2 strength. I have not run over 1000ppm yet as I was battling brown slime...

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

Ive been using Insect Frass in conjunction with the normal formula. About 1 tsp per 2.5 gallon, it goes in in small pieces (almost resembles mosquito dunk pieces); but, it is completely consumed in 48 hours. Pretty cool stuff. I notice a lot more heady foam in the tea and a strong earthy smell...

just dont use the protekt or the green bottle of gro. if you did it right they have enough N from the veg stage to sustain flowering. :D

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

I am not positive as i have not tested or seen a test for myself, but it appears to be one in the same. I cut my liq carbo load, protekt silica from veg and flower...and GH gro nutrient completely as soon as i switch to 12/12. After a sterilization the problem seems to stay away as long as i...

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

Yes and No. brown algae eats silica and nitrates. Microscopic means you cannot see it. The "silica dust" was a bad analogy, the hydroton adds "dissolved silica" to the nutrient in minuscule amounts and it might also be found in your water supply. The nitrate comes from your N nutrient, whatever...

PLANTS WILTING! YELLOWING ! Some brown spots! HELP!

You say you have specific days that you water, i am almost positive this is the problem. Plants dont need water on a specific schedule, and some will drink more then others. They need to go through wet and dry cycles. Yours are either under or over watered (probably over). Do you test your plant...

Whats better cool tube or hood

I personally do not like cool tubes. I use all magnum XXXL 6 inch vented hoods and they dont get much over ambient temps but if i had to do it again I would buy parabolic hoods. I have to cooling units, and I have the space to go up.

*also side note, these "brown algae" feed off of silica, guess what hydroton is? So I'm done with hydroton. A few weeks after I started using hydroton in net pots, I had this stuff show up. I thought it was a coincidence. It is feeding off of the nitrates in my GH Grow nutrient and the...

    Deep waterculture recirculating system

You are going to want to center those stones in the middle of the bucket and your water level looks a little high in the video. But that is a nice looking system. Just get her dialed in, ive had a tough time with my DWC mostly due to slime, but still its been a bitch.

What the heck did I brew? Is this brown slime??

That must have been the slime. Everything is looking better after a LONG 24 hour set of flushes and washes on everything. Man I used to run 1500-1800ppm on these strains and lately i have not been able to get over 900

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

Quick update. After the physan/zone dose the plants were limp. I flushed with pH adjusted 1ml/gal 50% h202 then dumped. I added 20ml for ~30 gallons of 50% h2o2 and have added 100ppm micro and 100ppm bloom. I have not flooded with it yet but i can see the roots are whiter again and see a few new...

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

It was slime, i believe you are right and i put in the tea before the microbes had a chance to eat it all. I forget when i brewed it and i think added it too soon. So the molasses fed the bad and the brown slime appeared in just 2 days. I really hope they will recover. IF not, im done. Its...
