any idea why it would be smoking?

any ideas why the ballast would smoke?

Ok so its firing back up however one half of the ballast is smoking i believe its the core

OK so i get it to fire up, but now the ballast is smoking one half of it i think its the core.

No its a hps. It fired right away before.

I set up a 400 watt ballast housed in a metal mailbox. I wired it and it turned on fine with a very quiet hum. Once i rigged everything up in my box and tried firing it up it just hummed and didnt fire the bulb, weird thing is that when i unplug it the bulb lights up for a second. any idea? Thanks

ya it comes with 2 bulbs. does anyone know if the sealed sunsystem yieldmaster II is cooler in an enclosed area than a cool tube

ok so im looking to upgrade from cfls to a hps. I found a 450watt sunsystem 10 ballast with a sunsystem yield master 2 for $250.00. that also includes 2 bulbs. you think that's a good deal and that I should swoop it? or should I continue to search? Thanks FunKY

Im looking online and it says foxfarm tiger bloom npk ratio is 2-8-4 and the big bloom is .01-0.3-0.7. So I dont know too much about fertz and over doing something yet. This is my second grow so im pretty much a nub still. If it is over N, what should I do? Ill post some more pictures on...
