im using some 15 watt cfls until i can find/afford a better lighting situation, and yeah that soil mix is my first batch ever made... i got some brown-sandy dirt from the vivero(nursery) and mixed it with wood chips and worm castings... next time i transplant them it will be into some better...

i misted them a few days ago, and i remember leaving droplets on the leaves of that one. i didnt realize the light would magnify in the water and burn em. duly noted... and i've moved my lights off of my plants a little more. thanks man :bigjoint:

from what i've heard and seen, avocado seeds, if submersed in an inch or so in water, drops its taproot and sprouts.. and you can watch the development of this happening in crystal clear water. i cant seem to make it work for me :-(

I have tried 3 or 4 times now, and i cant seem to get the seed to sprout.. what am i doing wrong? i've tried it with lots of light, on a shady shelf, and in a sunny room... should i just give up and plant one in the ground???
