Hoping someone has an ingenious idea...

When doing soil yes, it's pretty easy to trim\breakup root bound pots when re-potting to a larger pot size. With bucket hydro rigs you have a fill and overflow bulkhead type screened fitting that projects into the bucket a few inches. They act like a lock on the root ball when it ends up...

Hoping someone has an ingenious idea...

Well, let me start out saying I SCREWED UP. I do bucket hydro with 2 gal buckets, these have a 3/4" overflow screened tub fitting up top and the 'teal' colored 1/2" screened fitting down below for injection and drain with hydroton media. For me these have been working out great with a 4 week...

    Bucket Hydro and air

Basically I was just thinking about increasing Oxygen availability, I do have air stones in my res anyway and add H2O2 occasionally. @ Budley, pure O2, well, no I don't want to die... @ Johnny, I have my buckets setup with the fill line 1 inch from the bottom with an overflow line about 2 inches...

    Bucket Hydro and air

Any guys who are doing bucket hydro, has anyone tried putting an airstone in the bottom of the buckets? Will it maybe dry out the root zone too much during the few hours between flood cycles? If so, what about a timer on the air pump say 15 on 15 off, or increase number of floods? I'd...

    Water chiller ideas?

What I've done is, went to Autozone and picked up a auxilliary radiator for $20, hooked up some 1/2" tubing, hung it in front of my AC's output, dropped a second sub pump in the res for it and it works great!

    Anybody know what's causing this?

The res's I clean at about 7-10 depending on how they look. In the buckets I keep the hydroton at 2+ inches above the water line and the res's are sealed and in the dark so I never show any signs of growth at all. Since they're at 600 ppm I don't see how it could be over fert. I've been using...

    Anybody know what's causing this?

Thanks for the reply stew. Well, the plants aren't wilting, cupping I've usually seen goes 90 deg to that. The feeding schedule I have them on is every 4 daytime and once during the night, and the temp is kept at 75. To address the other issues in your quote; 1) They're in their first week so...

    Anybody know what's causing this?

Plants were fine in veg, switched them over to the flower room, two days later the leaves are starting to curl downward along the sides turning them tubular.

    Peltier effect coolers?

I have two 40 gal res's, if even set up so that the heat they generate is'nt in the grow area you don't think they'd do a very good job? You can get a 100 watt cooler for about $10 plus a few for extra parts, I just don't know how much effective cooling that size of unit would give.

    Peltier effect coolers?

First off, apologies if this has been gone over before but the search tool is not working for me for some reason. Has anybody tried using Peltier coolers for res chilling before? If so, did it work well? How did you do it?

What would you do with this space?

Fot your taller girl thats about as close as you want to get, with the extra bulbs you have you might want to make a separate fixture to hang and adjust for the shorter ones.

Is it Veg Time?, Short and Bushy!!!

If at all possible, you might want to try and move it outside the box then. If can't, maybe something like a piece of stiff plastic under that grating placed at angle to be able to divert any splashes or drips as far away as possible. You could always make something like a gutter for the end of...

Is it Veg Time?, Short and Bushy!!!

Is that a surge protector power strip under your pots? You might want to consider relocating that. Wouldn't want your first grow to be your last and that would be a shame because they are gorgeous!

Quantities per household or per patient?

Isn't that the 11th commandment? Yes so unfortunately by the way I understand it (and I'm pretty sure it's right) you can never have anything even remotely close to a continuous harvest since you can't have any immature while you have plants flowering. So the best you can hope for is a crop...
