    light cooling a carbon filter

Sure. The best way is with an inline filter connected to a duct connected to your air cooled reflector. The reason not to use a front end(Can type)filter is if you have any small leaks anywhere in the ducting after the filter, you have smell getting out of the room.

how many plants under a 400 WATT HPS

I've grown a bit. I've never used 400wt, but I do have a lot of experience with 1000 wt hps. I suggested a higher number of plants to maximize the production. The grow space is 5 feet by 5 feet, right? Thats a big space for one light. Instead of growing a few plants(which might not be good...

WTF Guys..Is all lumens talk BS or not!!!!

All I am saying is if a bulb is putting out less light, measured in lumens or in burnt nose hairs, its a sign you should replace the bulb. It has no bearing on what type of light you should choose in the first place.

WTF Guys..Is all lumens talk BS or not!!!!

I'm not sure what you mean by 'penetration' but what plants need is light radiated in spectra that they can absorb for metabolic processes. The more usable light they have, the bigger energy budget they have. I was in a grow room 2 weeks ago that was half MH and half HPS. The buds in the hps...

how many plants under a 400 WATT HPS

As many as you want. The more you grow, the less time you have to veg for. Id say 10 to 20.

    Air

I just filter all my air intakes. AS long as the stomata aren't clogged, the plants are fine.

WTF Guys..Is all lumens talk BS or not!!!!

What you CAN learn from lumens is when to replace your bulb. If you are supposed to be getting 10000 lumens from a bulb and you measure 7500, perhaps its time to replace the bulb. Does anyone do this? As far as proper spectrum, stick with cfls or hps. I've never seen anything else that works...

    Does anyone know shorcuts!!

You can definitely get the same yield per harvest with less plants(to a point), it just takes longer because you have to veg them bigger.

    Humidity Question

So the humidity is running around 40, up to 55-60 the day I water. The plants seem happy, maybe drying out a little sooner. Do other people use dehumidifiers?

    Advice needed Please

You want to get the non-perennial plant type of pro mix. It has just peat moss and perlite. YOu don't want time released fertilizers. YOu want to control that yourself. Regular bales of pro mix are $20 to @25 and fill 30 8" pots

    Does anyone know shorcuts!!

As far as regulating the water, if you are pumping at a steady rate, just go by time. Also make sure you get a decent heavy duty hose. If you cheap out on that, you will end up buying another one soon enough. I switched to a pump recently. I'd say it cut watering time in half.

A reservoir, pump and watering wand will help a lot.

    Big Bud excperience ?

Its definitely not freisland. We have that around here, too. Freisland is an outdoor strain. M39(so legend states) is a cross of NL 5 and skunk 1. I've never seen seeds, only clones.

    Trouble Mid way of Flowering

The pods are male flowers, which are a stress reaction. Your plants aren't too happy about something. What temperature is your garden?(hottest in the day and at night)

    Big Bud excperience ?

It did a little computer search. TH seeds seems to have it-sounds like what I have, probably where the seeds came from. M39 is bland weed, but finishes in 42 days, doesn't smell much, yields amazingly(I have seen 1 and a half pounds per light in soil), resistant to vermin and disease. My beef...

    Hello everyone

Hi there I've been growing the good plant since 1991(on and off), hence the name. Canada is just a great place for it. Equipment and genetics are easy to come by and the local constabulary has other priorities. Myself and several like minded friends have serious mid sized soil based gardens...
