i got a cfl at the store and a clip lamp for it and an adapter from a big base to standard base and its not turning on. Do you need ballasts for CFL???

I just got a 250w MH bulb but dont have a ballast and am growing on a small scale and dont want a big garden or anything extra. Ive got a 32w CFL and its crap. Would say a 150w CFL be alright.

I have a few plants growing right now they are about a week old under a 32 watt CFL. I just bought a $30 metal halide 250w. And put in a yeast sugar water CO2 dispenser. Is it worth a $50-150 investment to get the ballast . I live in a house with 3 ppl and they dont know its in the house. Is it...

I just got a 250w metal halide bulb and got a converter which makes the base of the bulb into a smaller size for a regular light fixture. So I plug it into my lamp and its not working. I think I need a ballast but how much are they? Im unclear on how this works...:peace::joint::peace:
