It's a 200watt full spectrum CFL, a big boy. Not a bunch of the rinky dink kinds that screw into regular outlets. It doesn't get too hot, but there is some heat. Wouldn't 1" or even 3" burn them?

How far should the light be? The light is on 24/7 and they get watered every other day or so. Just until a few drops come out the bottom.

You can cut and manicure a single bud to taste. Just pick the ripest one and dry it quicker than you regularly would. I recommend putting it on the vent of your computer router for a day. -m420

I used to live down there. It's hard to start seeds during this time because the days are long and hot, but not for long. I'd say just start them outside if you intend to finish them out there. But make sure you give them plenty of attention and don't expect much. -m420
