Environmental Controls & Airflow Help Needed (Room Inside a Room -Sealed/Vented Hybrid)

Thanks for the advice. Yes, it really is too small a space for a perfect set-up so it's just a matter of compromising some things. Eventually high end LED lights will help keep temps down so exhaust won't be such an issue, but for now it is what it is. For CO2, I just hung one of the CO2 bags...

Leaves Sucked Dry (All Plant Stages)

So, just as an update to everyone after containing plants in tents, dialing in environmental control, changing to RO water, and removing as many variables as possible, my plant's health improved greatly, but was still having some issues, BUT I finally found the solution! The main problem was...

Environmental Controls & Airflow Help Needed (Room Inside a Room -Sealed/Vented Hybrid)

Just when I thought I was creative you have to post stuff like this! I've never seen vertical ScrOG's (or any setup) like yours. Very interesting. Thanks for the input. I ended up doing something similar for the winter, but pulled cold air directly from outside into an area and then pulled air...

Environmental Controls & Airflow Help Needed (Room Inside a Room -Sealed/Vented Hybrid)

I was worried about pulling sub-zero degree winter air directly from outside across my lights so I opted for this direction. I did--as you suggested--direct that air to my main ducting to the house though so the warm air would help heat the house. What I ended up doing for winter was taking an...

ROOTING Cuttings on a Rack T12, T5, LED, Spectrum?

I tried last night...nearly fried them. Many had yellowed and others were laying over. At least I can cross T5 off the list! :o) I guess I'll have to try different t12 bulbs or LED options.

ROOTING Cuttings on a Rack T12, T5, LED, Spectrum?

Yeah, I've heard (at least from the EZ Cloner instruction manual) that aerocloning can use a bit more light during the rooting process. In reality, I've only got about 8" total space so including the width of the fixture would only have 4-6". What wattage bulbs are you using? I veg my rooted...

ROOTING Cuttings on a Rack T12, T5, LED, Spectrum?

Hi there y'all, I've got a rack with 4 levels. 1 level is dedicated to rooting cuttings. Vertical space is very tight so putting a t5 fixture would likely be too strong to root cuttings (if I knew for sure though, I wouldn't be asking you all). I currently have 2, 4-foot T12s but I don't think...

Need Tighter, Thicker Mother Plant Growth (T5 vs MH vs CMH?)

Nice. Which LED did you go with?

Need Tighter, Thicker Mother Plant Growth (T5 vs MH vs CMH?)

Thanks Joe, I guess I always thought that since the 1,000 watt normal veg space is something like 5x5 and I was using a smaller area with smaller plants I could get away with lower power (and save a bit of $) but what you say makes sense. I'll crank it up a bit and see how things go. For...

Need Tighter, Thicker Mother Plant Growth (T5 vs MH vs CMH?)

To get tighter internodal growth and thicker, less spindly growth, which light would be my best bet? I'm currently using CMH and MH, but had better (albeit way too slow) growth with T12's (I would never fill a space with T12...just sayin')! My canopy space is 4 x 10 with 2, 315-watt CMH lights...

Leaves Sucked Dry (All Plant Stages)

Thanks again. Although I switched a lot of things, they were all done over a 4-7 month period in an attempt to dial everything in. In the summer, I was just in a completely open basement grow but as weather has changed, so has conditions that were once favorable. I'm hoping to get everything...

Leaves Sucked Dry (All Plant Stages)

Thanks for the feedback. A bit more info: My 6 month old mother plants are in 3 gallon fabric pots. I only water when needed, but the average is 3x weekly. I know they need it because on the schedule at least 1 plant is screaming for water and the others are dry within the top 2 inches of soil...

Leaves Sucked Dry (All Plant Stages)

last I checked was 6.0 in and averaged 6.0-6.5 out. I've been balancing nutrients around 5.6-6.0 and my Recharge or compost tea is usually 6.0-6.5.

Leaves Sucked Dry (All Plant Stages)

Yeah, I usually leave the leaves on. The plant is sucking them of nutrients pretty readily so no worries there. I'll up nutrients to 3/4 strength every other time and alternate veg & bloom and see what happens. Root zone pH is fine. I'm seriously at a loss as I've increased nutes before only to...

Leaves Sucked Dry (All Plant Stages)

So, I've had this issue for well over 4-6 months. Leaves seem to be being sucked of nutrients by the plant, especially older leaves. Leaves on top are great, but lower leaves seem to be having issues. Some plants are in plastic containers, some are fabric. Some are in pro-mix, some are in...

    Need a Single-Outlet Temperature & Humidity Controller

OK....Nice and very interesting since I just purchased a few computer networking courses as I'm looking to jump industries and was literally just on the RaspberryPi site looking at various projects thinking, "maybe there's something here for garden automation..." Awesome coincidence. I will jump...

    Need a Single-Outlet Temperature & Humidity Controller

Sooo....OK Everyone. It's not the most elegant option, but here's what I did for now. Basically, I just bought another 4" fan since it was cheaper and easier than any of the controllers and safer than wiring things myself. My 4x4 tent now has 3 inline fans (yes....3...it's stupid, but another...

    Need a Single-Outlet Temperature & Humidity Controller

Yeah. It's a "smart" controller for that fan... They're on the right track though!

    Need a Single-Outlet Temperature & Humidity Controller

Aha! Perfect. Mmm....I'd just have to cut the plugs off the fans and plug them in? Thanks!

    Need a Single-Outlet Temperature & Humidity Controller

Yeah, by AC infinity...I wish they just had a controller! The issue is that I need both the intake and the exhaust to kick on so I'd have to buy 2 and there's no guarantee they'd read the same temp / humidity based on location. Thanks though!
