    Anti animal/pest trick..

I think that a buck would only mark over another bucks urine, but I may be wrong. They never marked over mine, but I may have just lucked out, or it could also be dependent on region and how aggresive the deer are there.

Found a new spot, and had an encounter

Been searching around my area via satellite imaging the past couple days since my main plot had been jeopardized. I found another great spot and went to check it out earlier. Fall sunlight is going to be great, and the water table is near, so I may not have to do anything but plant, pull males...

    Anti animal/pest trick..

Hair clippings, urine, fishing line, irish spring soap. Those are a few things that will help keep deer away from your plants. Careful with the soap though if you have mice/rats around the area as it will attract them. I seen a post here where someone attached deer whistles to the trees...

    Anti animal/pest trick..

Some say that male urine will keep deer away, others say it won't. I think it really depends on the deer population in your area, and what there food sources are like. I don't think that I would use buck urine though. It could attract other bucks coming to cover the scent with their urine...

Does hours of light include twilight?

I don't know about a journal, but I will give periodical updates, if/when this gets underway. Took a trip out to my best and only remaining spot today to walk around and find the prime areas. Started to pull in and what did I see? Nothing but a nice fresh set of tire tracks:shock: Nobody...

    Need Help!!!!

I'm new to outdoor growing myself, but I'll try to help out with what I've learned from reading, and people helping me. Earliest time would be after the last frost. Depending on your area, it's probley the begining to middle of may. If it's been a abnormaly cold winter, wait an extra week to...

Do you protect your grow area?

I'd try to find an area outdoors that has thorn bushes or briars that grow there already. Since they already grow there nothing looks out of the ordinary. Although depending on the area, matthews idea could work well. How tall do those things grow? What ever cover you use would be best if it...

Does hours of light include twilight?

I've got two plots lined up for the season. One will get direct sunlight all day. The other i'm not sure about yet. I won't know untill the trees start putting some leaves on for that one. I'm still not even sure if I will be able to veg them indoors yet. I hope so, because I'd like them to...

Does hours of light include twilight?

When you factor in how many hours of light a plant gets outdoors, does that include twilight? Not sure if I will be able to, but I want to try and veg my plants indoors for a month before going outside. I want to make sure that I have them on the same light schedule that they'll see when I...

    Chicken wire, netting, ect..

At least his farts were loud. Mine are all silent so there's no preparing for it. Every once in awhile damien will let a little hiss. Of course afterwards, he'll immediately look at me to see if I noticed. Kane on the hand is straight silent and deadly.

    Stealthy smoking!

I got one of these Gilmour 05V Garden Hose Shut Off Valve - Red Hill General Store and took a cap from a pop bottle. drilled a hole through the top of the cap so that it was mainly just the threads, and a small amount of the top itself left. Then take a dryer sheet and fold it in half 3...

    Chicken wire, netting, ect..

I want to try that too, but I heard it will attract rats and bugs. Any truth to this? Thought about tying some rope aroung the tops of some bottles and leaving them in the water (lake) then just pull them out and cap them, and carry them to the plants. Already be filled when I get there.

    Chicken wire, netting, ect..

:evil:ARRGGHHH:evil::evil: The spot I had picked out just fell through. Damn, it was perfect too. I drove out that way tonight to scope it out, and I see that someone has blocked the entrance with about 3 tree trunks. Good thing I had a backup. Actually the backup is probley a...

    Chicken wire, netting, ect..

lol! My g/f has a cat that sounds nothing like a cat when it meows, more like a baby cougar or something, realy wierd. Maybe tie him up out there, I'd have to go get him from her parents house though. There are no cats allowed in my house, can't stand em. This cat will attack large animals...

    Chicken wire, netting, ect..

Whether or not someone would find them depends on if people go through the area. If they do I wouldn't mess with it. I would also use a pot or bag rather than putting soil in the drums. Never know what was in the drum and if it may hurt your babies. If the spot is visible to anyone (like from...

    Chicken wire, netting, ect..

What part of the country are you in, or are you not in the us? I think it really depends on the deer population and what the food supply is for them. Some places nothing short of a cage will keep them away. Last time I grew outdoors I pissed around some of the plants. A few of them I only did...

    Chicken wire, netting, ect..

Just pick a spot where there are no people. If you don't have accces to a site like this, then you just have to make sure that you hide them well. Really you should hide them well anyhow. Now back to what this thread is about. I've heard of coyote and wolf piss. Trying not to buy much...
