yeah hydro/dwc can be quicker if you get it spot on but that week or so quicker can be easily wiped out by little problems that arise. a problem free soil grow will yield more potent bud in less time than a fucked up / problem riddled dwc/hydro. (not saying yours is dude am just sayin)

so you seen 1 plant grown in soil and totaly dismissed growing in soil? lol, how did get on to the set up your on anyhow?

so many variables for you to get spot on, did you ever think of just startin out in soil with a 1 part fert?

hps and halide are both hid lamps, and the heat aint that bad for a 400w hps, mh lamps do give out a bit more heat than hps. that said clf isnt heat free. you will always need ventilation. as long as you got at least 5foot height in your tent the heat from a hps is managable. imo.

have another look into it , my hid payed for itself 2 weeks after cropping as i didnt buy that ounce i usually do ,in fact i coulda got 2 hid and ran them. there are a lot of things to factor in light efficiancy. but as a rule, more light=more bud . and the cost of running the lamps come second...
