    The COCO forum

I think it will definitely be popular. I just started a COCO grow room and the growth rates I am getting are equal to my other two hydroponic rooms.

    The COCO forum

Why isn't this called the COCO Coir forum? Or COCO/HEMPY forum? Anyhow, it's about time. 3/4 of the venders at the cannabis farmers market here grow in coco, it's a huge under-served (on RIU forums) sector of hydroponics, and YES coco is hydroponics!!

    Pest prevention.

Bugs aren't a huge problem outside. They have natural predators running around who eat them and keep them in check. I always had more problems with rabbits. I would put a chicken wire cage around them when they were small to keep the rabbits out.

Most efficient ebb and flow medium

Growstones are easier to clean than hydroton and cost about the same. They hold air better too.

Any help designing Drip Irrigation assembly infinitely appreciated

You definitely don't want to recirculate using coco. I had a friend that tried it and the coco clogged everything within a day. I assume you are running drain to waste? Do you have anything built yet?

Stinky, stinky! Nutrients which reduce smell?

Because sometimes, especially with older houses, some of the odor escapes into the floorboards and walls. My house is over 100 years old and the last couple weeks of budding I could smell it a bit in my living room and sometimes get a whiff of it up in my driveway. My friend could smell a...

Stinky, stinky! Nutrients which reduce smell?

There is a surefire cure for odor. First, do what stink says and exhaust with a strong fan and carbon filter. Second make an ona bucket and run it OUTSIDE the room. Running it inside the room doesn't work. If you run it just outside the room, it gets all the odors that escape into the walls...

Please Help!!! After 4 days plants dying.....growing Hydro.

Get 29% - 35% hydrogen peroxide from your hydro store and give them 1-2 ml per gallon per day. A teaspoon contains about 5 ml. It's easiest to measure in those little shot glasses that they sell at the hydro stores. They show in ML on the side. They hold 45 ml when filled to the top. Glad...

    Why are nutes so costly?

There is no need to use anything beyond the base nutes and PH adjusters. Exotic supplements are largely snake oil. If you are tired of getting ripped off by hydro companies, make your own fertilizer. It's easy and super cheap. $5 - $7 a gallon and it's cleaner than hydro store bought...

Using garlic plants to control mites?

Dude, get forbid 4F and problem solved. Companion plants wont drive them away. You will have them forever unless you exterminate them completely. The Forbid is super strong 1 ml makes a gallon and one spraying during vegetative kills them for your whole crop. Buy it cheap on ebay. Stop...

PH drop in Hydro sys. HELP pls

When you have PH drops like that you are having root rot problems. Get some 35% hydrogen peroxide and give them three ml per gallon for about five days then 2 ml per gallon til you are finished. Next crop use hydrogen peroxide from the start to prevent it.

Please Help!!! After 4 days plants dying.....growing Hydro.

could you show some pictures of your system? Half strength is fine for now, even lower would be better. You want them to drop roots before you crank up the fertilizer. Once you see roots, they can handle the nutes. You should pour a cup of solution through each netpot once a day. This will...

    ppm rise

I would just check it strait from the tap, or when it is in your reservoir. No need to keep checking the same glass of water all day long. I have a friend that second guesses everything he does. He puts his PH meter in a glass of reservoir water and it goes normal at first, then freaks out...

Aeroponics ??? need experienced answers plz

That looks like a powerful pump. I would put a ball valve inline so you can control flow. With the ball valve, you can adjust your sprayers til they spray exactly the way you want them to. One problem with that type of system is when roots pile up, you get dead zones that don't get much...

    Coco Coir.....

This is a very good question. At the cannabis farmers market here, most of the vendors that I have talked to grow in coco. I am running my first coco room myself and I quite like it.

Can I trim roots hanging into the bottom bucket?

There is no need to trim roots. They are fine. I ran ebb and grow type systems for a couple years. Just use hydrogen peroxide. If I were you I would rebuild the system. Keep the controller, but ditch the cheap-o small ebb and gro buckets and replace them with three gallon buckets. Is...

Taking the plunge: HP Aero Drain to Waste

Question, what pod and solution temps are people running? What methods of insulation and cooling are people using? My roots are growing by about 50℅ every day now, but still slow growth above ground.
