    What's wrong with this plant?

Hello, Can anyone tell me what is wrong with the plant in the first picture? I have several with varying degrees of this problem. I know it's hard to tell, but the second set of leaves, the first "pot looking" leaves, are curled under. The first set of leaves look healthy. The soil...

    Best CPU FANS ? ?

I'm running a 400 watt HPS. My temps are a little on the high side, 85ish, right now. Improving that is one of my three projects for tomorrow. I have another one of those fans. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to enlarge the area of the screen filters, add another fan in parallel, or add...

Now it just hums a little like a small appliance. The sound reminds me of the fridge in my dorm.

When do you add first nutes?

Yeah, I have ventilation which is turning the air over in the cabinet several times per minutes. And I really need to add more ventilation to get the temperature down a little. Ultimately, that's the problem though. With that much air circulating through, the cabinet is never going to be that...

    Best CPU FANS ? ?

This is the other side of the fan in the previous picture. The door closes on the outside of this filter cabinet so the air is forced from the fan, down through the baffles and out the bottom. The screen baffles are on opposite sides to muffle the sound of the fan, which is quite effective...

When do you add first nutes?

Yeah, that's my lights on temp. I just installed a new light and I haven't quite balanced out the temperature yet. You would think since the bucket of water has so much more surface area than the sponge in the bag it would be more effective at humidifying?

    Best CPU FANS ? ?

Actually, the fan is blowing air out of the cabinet, through the wall in the picture, and into a filter box on the outside of the light cabinet. If the fan weren't in motion you would be able to see through the blades into the filter box. I can put up a picture of the filter box if you would...

When do you add first nutes?

Right now I'm at 85 degrees and 22% humidity. I'll try the bowl and see how far that gets me.

    Best CPU FANS ? ?

This is a picture of the fan from parts express in action. It really is 115 volts. It's a good fan and it works great for my application. I'm not saying it's the end-all be-all.

    Best CPU FANS ? ?

Yes, you can get a box fan for $15. But a box fan isn't a very good choice for mounting in a cabinet.

When do you add first nutes?

Great. Thanks, unforgiven. Any suggestions for increasing humidity? I'm in a cabinet so adding an electric humidifier would probably not be optimal.

When do you add first nutes?

Hello all, When do you (how long after germination) like to add nutrients for the first time? Also, if I'm averaging about 80 degrees F, what should my target humidity be? thanks for your responses, cleef

Why veg at 18/6 vs. 24/0?

Great. Thanks, guys. That's really what I was wondering, is if the plant had a need for the dark period. And it sounds like they do.

    Hi, I'm Max

Max, you are an organism that generates CO2. All animals convert O2 to CO2.

Why veg at 18/6 vs. 24/0?

Widow also mentioned the power consumption thing in his growing guide. I guess that's assuming it takes your plants a certain number of days to get to the point of flowering, as opposed to assuming it takes a certain number of light exposure hours. If it's true that 24/0 leads to a quicker...

    Hi, I'm Max

I'm quite certain that will not work and this is why. An ozone generator generates ozone (O3) from O2. In other words, it takes three O2 molecules and spits out two O3 molecules. It is not capable of breaking the carbon-oxygen bond (CO2) the way a plant can. That being said, if you already...

    Hi, I'm Max

I would worry about CO (carbon monoxide). If there is not enough O2 the CO2 generator will not properly combust and you'll get poisonous CO instead of CO2 (carbon dioxide). It's the exact same thing that happens if your furnace is improperly vented.

Why veg at 18/6 vs. 24/0?

18/6 seems to be the universally accepted lighting schedule for vegetative growth. Does anyone know why? Is there nothing to be gained from an additional six hours or is the dark "rest" period necessary like it is in mammals? Any info appreciated. Thanks!
