Where did you find a dish big enough to fit the vac it pro on for the sand?

I know about the reptile sand but what are you using for heat? a griddle? a cooktop of some sort?

Every time I blast I learn something new. If I didn't grow it and had to pay for starting materials I'd probably be singing a different tune however. Just trying to achieve wax for once!

I am thinking of purchasing a nuwave cooktop so I can keep better control over my temps. The griddle I have is the cheapest one out by a brand called rival and the lowest setting is 150. Problem is, it keeps turning off and then back on trying to maintain that temp, but it ends up fluctuating...

I am currently using a griddle where the lowest setting is 150 (about 115-125 in the vac it pro). Should I invest in one of those nuwave cooktops? Please advise. If I get perma goo one more time I think I might break something!!!!

I ran fresh frozen and it was the lightest colored oil I've seen yet that I've made. I think it's the way to go.

Should I do the evaporation of the alcohol without heat at all? I think it got "goo forever" in the pyrex while I was asleep.

OK here's the update. I left it on the griddle on the lowest setting (150) and it took over a day to evaporate. Problem was when I went to sleep it was still runny. When I woke up it was almost impossible to scrape up. I have what little I could scrape in the vac chamber right now. We shall...

OK, here's the deal. I blasted around 150 grams fresh-frozen and once it cooked down in the pyrex I poured in the everclear. I froze for 24 hours (I know some say 48 hours), filtered through 2 coffee filters and now I have it in a pyrex tray on the griddle at the lowest setting. I think the...

Damn, and I thought my yields were bad. I think fresh frozen is the way to go. I did it for the first time yesterday and can definitely see a difference. Not only in the lighter color of the oil but also the yield looked greater than what I usually get (won't know until final weight obviously).

Go buy a gun. They are only 27 bucks for the Ryobi one or harbor freight has everything on the cheap. I just got the gun and was previously using a candy thermometer. For the price it really works great.

Yeah, I just bought the 3 gallon. Question for you guys who own vac it pro...Do you put it directly on the griddle or do you use a sand or water bath? I have a cheap griddle that the lowest setting is 150. I was planning on using it right on the griddle.

Anybody use power 5x? I keep hearing it's the generic vector. I used power the first few times out and now I switched to vector and I feel like I got a better restult. Also, is Colibri in the US bad like that? It's so expensive I'm surprised. Please advise. Thanks and best regards.
