You don't want your pump going 24/7. You want to set a timer to come on and feed your plants 3 times a day. The hydroton holds the water nicely between feedings.

I have a drip system with a 20 gal. reservior. Pump going to plants and two draining tubes flowing back to the reservior from either side of the 2x4 planter. That is it. No air. Nutes seem to fall to the bottom and I find myself stirring it up every day.

I know that this is going to sound really stupid,but what is a airstone? Is that the stone filter attached in the end of a airhose? If so then no I don't have one. I'm not running any air into it at all. Should I?

Sorry everyone. I have a newbie question about hydro systems. When you put nutes in the water, they sink to the bottom of the reservior. I'm I suppose to stir it up everyday or is it suppose to just lie at the bottom? Thanks for the input.:weed:

Thats for all the help. I do like the RO filter idea. Where might I find one? How often does the filter have to be changed?

They claim 6x6 for 400w. and i couldn't see why you would need anything bigger than 5 gals or mybe 3 gals for a closet or small room grow.

As for the CFLs. I use GE Daylight 6500k Cool Natural Light 26watts = 100watts. They work great.

I'm running a drip system in my veg. room and I have plants that are over a month old on full nutes. I've just started new seeds and need to run half nutes for them but the resevior is set at full nutes for the big plants. I've read that you should run half nutes for the first 2 and a half weeks...

How do I turn tap water into disstilled water? I'm brand new to this and I'm trying to save on the water for my hydros.
