Can you cut your mothers lower branches and keep her strong to grow more clones? Also, How tall should the mother be before cutting?

Going to be using a simple 30 gal black tote. A Model 600 - 200 GPH pump. and 1/2'' Poly Drip Tubing Foot. Drip system BUT would like to see best reservoir layout or picture whomever has one.

Ok and one of the clones is the "TOP" of the mother (the one to the far left(or bottom) and did drop them in cold water "water which run off from plant which is nute water (N)" so they should be fine, but was wondering if that "TOP" will grow say faster/bigger/stronger? Thanks. Anyone know...

TOO LOW PH just had that problem.
