How do you get the fattest fullest buds?

I'm with sutragrow, on this one. Don't waste your time looking for some magical potion, pick any decent nutrient line, and learn how to use it properly, then save your money in buying some good lighting. Do a little reading and choose a decent strain, then focus the rest of your efforts on...

    Myth Buster in Action

^Agreed, and personally, I won't use it without adding perlite first. Other than that, I think it's an excellent soil. Oh yeah,...I should mention that myself, and others, have had problems with it containing fungus gnats, which are a bit of a pain in the ass.lol But, ever since I started buying...

    Emergency!! Help..mutation at flowering stage???

Funny, I had this happen to me, on a couple plants, on my last grow, at about the same stage you are at. I'm pretty certain it wasn't caused by too much nitrogen, which was what I first suspected. The only things I could think of that were any different than my previous runs, were a couple weeks...

    Run Off pH Is Ridiculous...

Yeah, I s'pose you have a point, I'm lucky, in that my tapwater is always 6.8, my soil's always 6.8-7.0, and after mixing my fert mix enough times, i don't even really have to measure anything, to keep my PH close to the 6.8 range. But, if I'd just started growing, and never checked a thing, and...

Need Help! Not sure which problem I'm having!

They should've been fed a very light dose of fert, like 1/8th strength of that stuff, or even a little weaker. How did ya mix it? I'm guessing they couldn't handle it, and are getting burnt. Flushing was the right idea, just keep in mind that damage takes a couple days to set in, so they'll get...

    Super weird fat nodes

^Chill out guys, you don't have anything to worry about, those 'knobs' are normal. Yes, there are parasites that can attack your stems, but in this case, those are normal formations, which i've seen on my own plants, quite a few times. It's all good, just mother nature scaring ya a little.lol

    Myth Buster in Action

I did a test, similar to this, about a year ago. I compared MG soil with the time-released nutes, against the 'almighty' Fox Farms Ocean Forest, and ya know what? MG was the winner, not by a huge margin, but the results were pretty clear. The test was done in veg only, so that I could test them...

    yield of 1000w hps?

I just started some seeds yesterday, 8 of them, and plan to set them up in 2 rows of 4, with a 1000 HPS on a light rail, moving only about a foot or so, back and forth, making sure the ends get illuminated properly, while minimizing any shady areas. I recently got a little over a pound, with a...

First Post. My garden looks great, I just wish I knew what strand it is.

Yeah man, you're asking the impossible, in ID'ing the strain. There's just nothing unusual about them, that could possibly point to a strain with unique characteristics. Very nice looking plants though, excellent work.

    Grow number 3

I use a similar method to germinate, except I use moist paper, then place them between two small dinner plates, then set them on top of my hot water heater. I'm not sure what temperature it is up there, but I swear it's perfect, 'cause they germ super-fast there. I'd guess mid-upper 80's. The...

Are there any ill affects to vegging longer than expected?

I would say the main drawback to vegging longer, is the need for more light, as they get taller. If you're using a 400 HPS, for example, a plant that finishes much taller than 2', is wasted space, IMO, because the lower budsites won't really produce much useful smoke. Also, as the light becomes...

    Grow number 3

Hmm....It's been 21 hours since I started germing the new batch of seeds, and I'm gonna check 'em in 3 more, to see if any spilt. I expect them all to be split and in soil, by this time tomorrow, and poking above ground by day 4. My buddy has my camera, so i think i'll grab it later, and start a...

    Flowering and N Issue

Sounds like it's a little early to yellow, but hard to say for sure, without pics. If you want to slow the progress, give it a dose of veg fert, next feeding, like 1/2 strength. Don't get too carried away though, because right now, wouldn't be a good time to hammer them with nitrogen. It could...

    Rapid rooters...

^Nope, and sadly, alot of our hobby must be learned by trial and error. Happily, I can say that I've made MANY errors already, and it's pretty smooth sailing, finally.lol :)

    Grow number 3

Nah, that 2 ozs was for that one plant, the BB + WW. I got almost 2 ozs off each Ice plant, as well. The harvest before that yielded about 3 ozs each, I believe that was the harvest in the link below, a few grows back. With this last harvest, while I was sick, I'd let them get really dry, to the...

    Rapid rooters...

I like to let mine dry out before I store them, because I'm paranoid of molds, etc....Probably just preference, but it makes me feel better, long term. :)

    Grow number 3

Well, that grow finished up a few weeks ago, and I didn't document it. It was under a 600 HPS on a light rail(6 plants total), and yielded just over 2 ozs dried, finishing at just under 24". Could've done better, but I got sick mid-flowering, and wasn't able to maintain them like I wanted too...

    Rapid rooters...

Just make sure to take the dome off a couple times a day, and you shouldn't have to worry about molds/algae. Keeping everything sealed up for extended periods, without exchanging the air, is what I've found to cause problems. Keep the vents about halfway open, and that'll help too. That's where...

    Grow number 3

The two 250's over 6 plants, should work out pretty good. I've never grown BB, but I recently grew a BB + White widow, and it stayed nice and short, and produced like crazy, with budsites everywhere. Good smoke too, I'm thinking about ditching Ice next time, and switching to that strain. Maybe...
