Toomey sees uptick in poll numbers after support for background checks

"Last week, Toomey placed more of the blame on the president himself, telling the Morning Call, "I would suggest the administration brought this on themselves. I think the president ran his re-election campaign in a divisive way. He divided Americans. He was using resentment of some Americans toward others to generate support for himself."

The Obama game plan in one sentence. Highly effective too!

The Toomey Manchin bill was/is an exercise in double speak. It is good that it failed.

too bad americans were not divided on background checks, consistent 90% support across the board.

hell, universal background checks was at 74% AMONG NRA MEMBERS.

i guess we'll just have to wait until the next massacre, one that may have been easily prevented with background checks. sad and retarded, but it's sometimes the only way things work around here.

What might help Toomey and Manchin is to produce a bill that does not create a legal avenue for a national gun registry. The bill they put forward was a fraud.

I am still waiting to see the first massacre that would have been prevented by any of these "sensible gun control" measures. What usually happens around here is that the hand wringers (beer gutted jews with a pack a day habit and their big-handed wives) demand that something be done and we end up with a sex offenders registry populated by guys who took a piss in the alley.

75% of americans support a national registry and the idea is constitutional.

maybe they should spell it out a little clearer to gain more support.

That approach at least has the advantage of being honest, hence no Democratic lawmaker will touch it.

National registry is constitutional... another great line from the hobo camp.

that's probably all you can afford on your social security check.

any respectable hooker would probably charge you triple due to the ear hair, i imagine.

Actually, they give me a discount because of the ear hair. They say it tickles their thighs.
