Searchin for fire in some old school cool

Harvested the little MTF in chunks. The tallest part of the plant was barely 13 inches above soil level, but it was 22 inches wide.

The next MTF is in training and will get the big pot earlier, so it can stretch out in early flower. I’d like a backup jar of those buds, she’s a nice relaxing smoke. Black Domina seedlings are looking solid. GG4 and Saints Crossing both have 2 backup cuts.

If the GG4 smokes well enough, I’ll run her again. I’ll hunt that pack in the near future for a plant with a better yield and more pleasant stank, and hopefully without the balls in early flower.

Flower tent is almost empty, just the GG4 finishing up. MTF is hangin, dry tent has humidifier set to 60%.

Veg tent is keeping me pretty busy. Some moms, backup clones, new seedlings, and a couple plants training to flower next.

Black Domina IBX’s are getting big, but not quite showing sex yet. They got some more coconut water, hopefully the shot of growth hormones gives them a lil kick.

MTF got new shoes - 15 gal pot. She will get time to acclimate before flipping. We’re gonna try to avoid a repeat of last time!

(G13 x NL#2) x NL#2 - 2 are ahead, the rest were from the second sowing and “behind”. One shitty looking seedling was culled. The one I labeled #1, the most vigorous from seed pop is showing male and showing early, as I expected. From what some people have said - vigor is nice, but can also be more characteristic of hemp type traits.

The top middle Black Domina has a neat leaf mutation. Check out the top fan leaf, it’s “3-D”, and has an 8th finger growing out from the bottom of the leaf.

Update time I guess…..
The rootbound Black Domina IBX got new shoes, 7.5 gal pots. A male was also culled. 2 on left show as F, still waiting on last 3. Cuts were also taken today. I’ll move the plants to flip on Sunday, and officially start this pheno hunt.

(88G13 x NL#2) x NL#2 sucks to keep typing out, so they’ll just be GNL for now :-). They’re still in solos, and starting to show M/F early. The first male got put into the boom boom room upstairs. One showed both M/F pre flowers, and was killed off, leaving 7 from the pack.

I’ll put the rest into 1 gallon pots soon, and they’ll chill for a while until next round. They’ll get some stress testing while they wait. I’m really busy and may have popped too many seeds, lol.

The Mayberry are still small and still growing out of their initial weirdness. No rush!

I put the MTF I’ve been training and an extra Saints Crossing into flower because I’m running out of veg space and I could use some more backup jars that I know are proven.

MTF got some more defoliation and pruning, forming a nice canopy. This plant is just a ton of work :-(

Saints Crossing, my old reliable, looking fine.

The Black Dominas got thrown into flower, because I have space issues and need to get this pheno hunt movin! Hopefully they recover from their rootbound/transplanting soon, because they’re looking a bit rough still.

This is a pheno hunt though, not a pure sensi run, so they will just have to take some stress and deal with it. I’ve got another pack and a half to explore, so no big deal. The MTF and SC are backups, to make sure I still get some solid smoke from this run.

The most advanced male from the GNL got put into the pollen collection tent to start flowering. The others still need to be transplanted, badly. I picked a bad time to do this all, with the kids home from school for summer - I’m a dumbass !

Black Domina are starting to hit their stretch, day 6 F for them. 2 still haven’t rooted cuts, and not all have shown sex yet.

MTF front left, Saints Crossing behind it, day 13 F.

4 Mayberry seedlings, still one ugly duckling.

5 “GNL” seedlings, another male (short and stout) was moved to collection tent.

MTF n Saints Crossing are just doing their thing.

Black Dominas are STILL stretching and I’m moving the light up daily! They are about 46 inches tall today. Stems are thick, and hard supercropping is probably not an option. I have about 2 more feet of vertical space so I’ll be ok. These are the original seed plants, so extra vigor is expected compared to successive clone runs. My MTF pheno is a great example of that. The original seed plant had a more normal stretch, while the clones just turn into balls of budsites.

Pic 2 - two distinct phenos of the Black Domina. One is branchier, one is more columnar. Both have huge leaves and thick stems. It would be cool to have a representation of each plant here, the 95 BD cut and the SoHum cut. I like the columnar pheno more right now, but that may change later.

Pic 3 - The top of the brick shows the approximate height of the Black Dominas at flip. They’ve nearly tripled in size. I wasn’t planning on it, but I will likely need to topdress them soon. Their pots are only 7 gallons, and too narrow for my usual support cages. This is probably going to turn into a complete shit show :-). Let’s see what happens.

The veg plants, waiting to be tested and also getting some stress testing, still in #1 pots and getting rootbound. Life is busy :-)

Pic 1 - topped and recovering, the “GNL” females. 2 males are in the collection tent upstairs, and the first one is now dropping pollen (light is off, will show later).

Pic 2 - the 3 normal Mayberrys.

Some weirdo pics. It’s “healthy” and well cared for, but hasn’t grown out of the sickly look, and I’m not taking chances. I have plenty of seeds to test, and culls will have to be made. I might plant it in the compost pile until my neighbors notice. Not sure if this is a mutation or virus.

Not sure if this is a mutation or virus.
That looks like a deficiency/toxicity. You could try a soft flush and pruning her back. See if the new growth corrects itself.
Ive seen a similar thing happened when I top dress too many slow release pellets. Not sure whats happening in your soil, but it doesn't look like a mutation. If it was a virus it would progressively get worse.

I planted her out in the compost pile to watch her and see how she goes. The leaves were like half normal, and half weird, almost split down the middle in some of the leaves, where one side looked normal and the other half crinkled. The plant also self-topped and split the main stem by itself. The growth continues to look strange, a couple months in. I would think that she’d have grown out of it by now, especially if the soil started to deplete. Very strange plant overall, like nothing I’d seen before.

First male is dumpin’. I gotta clean out my trim/pollen tray. No visible pistils or funky stuff, and it looks like a decent male. Hoping some color or trichomes show up. I don’t flower many males, so not a lot of experience choosing them. This is still in a #1 pot, with the original soil.

Hopefully by choosing 2 males and using a well-worked line, my selections wont matter too much.

Black Domina finally stopped stretching and are setting buds. Front one is 52” tall. The top of that support ring on the MTF is 30”, for comparison. The 15 gal pots are drinking 1 gallon a day. The 7.5 gal pots get 3 quarts and they’re using it all up by the next day. Any more, and it just floods the tent.
