So I’m new to this site so hopefully I’m posting in the right place. I’ve found great results with coco coir but want to take things to the next level. I’ll always do my own research and I feel confident in this DWC journey but it never hurts to have an extra set of veteran eyes to whip me into shape. Grow starts in a week and a half and I hope ya’ll will join me. I’m using vivosun 4 bucket DWC kit and have the following seeds from growers choice.

ASIAN FANTASY for the second time (My jewel from my very first grow)

THE HOG (Pure indica pretty hyped)

BLACK CHERRY PUNCH(Last second replacement for lemon kush bc I want indica dominant to help keep a tight canopy)

GODFATHER OG (All around banger)

My experience with growers choice has been great. I’ve heard some bad reviews but in my experience I’ve only gotten one wack strain that wasn’t crazy strong like the rest and they replaced the seeds within the week no charge. Other than that I see why they have a 90% germ guarantee bc I’ve only been able to use it once out of 20 or so strains.
I’ll be using a floraflex 700w LED and General Hydroponics kit with cal mag and silica. Also getting RO filter. Any recommendations would be nice. Also a concern of mine is water temp. I don’t wanna add another 200 bucks for water chiller and worst case I’ll use frozen water bottles but my tent stays cool and never have heat issues. How necessary is the chiller?
 
If your ambient temps are no higher than the low 70's, it won't have a significant impact on your grow. As water temps rise, the amount of dissolved oxygen ("DO") drops, the chance of root rot increases, and growth tends to slow. With multiple buckets, adding frozen water bottles may become a PITA and you're spending $$ on electricity to freeze the water.

A water chiller for $200 is a good price. I use a small chiller from Active Aqua and it's [gulp] $462 to replace it. :shock:

How have you maintained water temps in your other grows?

This will be my first dwc so far so water temps are just room temp run it through coco till runoff.
 
I dont know why i thought you had the real asian fantasy. Im slow for that...

You dont need a chiller ...as your light will not heat the room/tent like a 1000w hps would.

Stay on top of your ph & ppms an you will grow your white label seeds decently

Im getting old...
Little things like growers choice seedbank annoy me
im such a guru that i need to find other gurus to talk cannabis with....

U think growers choice is white label or sum? From my experience idk if they are fake bc the strains have been amazing. Have yet to meet a grower with more potency and flavor and im crediting the genetics for that.

Id never buy anything from growers choice...

Its not about expensive packs...
I know DC seed exchange has FIRE genetics
You just need to be tapped in with KEY breeders.
Hazeman is a key breeder.

Triple xxx = The White x Aloha White Widow
You cant find fire like that anymore

Time is the only enemy ...
Cannaventure was a KEY breeder...
That was some time ago
Not so much anymore.

Sunken Treasures is a NEW key breeder
People hate on BELEAF cause he smacked his girlfriend up....his seeds STILL are frost monsters

A chiller is more useful when you have a recirculating DWC system with a reservoir. With all the buckets or containers plumbed together into a loop, and sharing the same nutrient solution to be chilled.

There are ways to chill multiple standalone DWC buckets with one loop/chiller. None as practical as switching or converting over to an RDWC setup.

If you even need a chiller that is..

DWC seed runs can get pretty wild! I usually opt for planting clones that are more consistent, but it does get kind of boring after awhile.. :sleep:

Ah, coco coir. I didn't catch that.

Coco is hydroponic because uses water to deliver the fertilizer and it's soil-less but I wouldn't call it DWC which is, loosely speaking, "roots in a bucket of water".

With that in mind, I'd avoid using water at either extreme of the temperature scale. Perhaps "cool" water is the best descriptor.

Yea I know everything I need to about coco but wanna stop using soil or coco at all.

I use coco & dwc....
I get a better product using both
Coco gives me soil taste
Dwc gives me explosive growth.

You have to be careful when using both
The coco will sink through the net pot if you place the water to high.
You also have to be careful of feeding teas an brews so you dont get run off inside your buckets.

Its like having 2 root zones

After look at top dawg I see multiple ways to buy a couple and a lot of strains. Heard abt a discord and insta to get in touch with him. What route do you take in ordering them?

Google Top Dawg Seeds...
You will find all of the seed sites that carry JJs gear.

I use seedsherenow. Brown bag seeds. Highend. Great lakes seed co.
They all carry his gear
