(Mild) stress (eg. not watering for a bit) etc. for better taste/potency?

I don't know where I picked this up, I think it was on a site for growing hot peppers.

Could some mild stress on the plants, such as not watering for a bit give them better taste and potency? (Or in the case of peppers make them hotter, as was claimed).

Has anyone experience with this?

Marijuana are not peppers, nor related.

Stress has long been thought of as a way to increase some plant compounds production... It is employed in some ways by certain nutrient makers with certain supplement products. The idea being, that your irritating the plant to produce more wanted compounds.
Does it work? Not in any real way that would measurably matter....

You'll do far better by your plant. By NOT stressing it in bloom!
