Organic Greenhouse grow @ the world's end

I've been wanting to post this grow for a long time now, but never found the time and will to do it. Now it's time though.
This grow was done with the help of my cousin, he left the capital city to live with nature and work for food not for money. To give you context we are talking about Chiloé Island. This is a piece of land that stretches 120 miles north to south and about 40 miles west to east. Located in Chile, Southern America. This island is popular among tourists because it holds some of the most pristine nature around the southern cone, and is the northern top of a region famous for its fiords and islands(and whale watching) all the way down to Antarctica. So keep in mind we are VERY down south.

So down south that the climate is actually called "cold" rainforest, with long raining periods and a very short summer. Thus making it not the ideal climate for growing. One thing that always called my attention though is the fertility of this land. It is like no other. The forests are tall and thick, the prairies are the greenest you will ever see, feeding the best livestock i've had.

Once my cousin settled he setup a small greenhouse for the usual stuff like tomatoes and all. I supplied the seeds. The seeds are from every sack i got with seeds. Just collected them over two years. I was hopping to be more helpful but im still in college and stuck in the big city, with a 12 hour drive from the island :?.

But too much blah blah lets get down to the important part. Of the seeds we had only 14 sprouted. Here instead of bud worms we have crazy big slugs. They can chomp down any leave and small seedlings were an easy catch for them. The attack of the monster slugs left about 5 plants in good health. Remember now that we are talking about a very cold weather, not freezing cold but cold (similar to Seattle during winter); as a result we got 3 males, which we disposed of *cough*cough diligently. So now all we had were 2 plants (we freaked out).

But mother nature was giving. One the two was a obvious indica with purple everywhere, and the other one was a lot more sativa (taller and thinner leaves) but with a crazy citrus smell.Once they were tall enough taking care of the slugs was not so crucial.

You can see how the lack of proper sunlight made the plant shoot up in search of it. We fixed it by laying it on its side. If we hadn't used a greenhouse the wind and heavy rains would have definitely tumbled the plantas. Let's see the buds

One thing i really liked is the fact that we used not just "organic" fertilizers, we used natural fertilizers, coming from the environment. Specifically we used seashells, chicken dung, sea weeds and apple mush (part of the apple without juice, left from cider made locally). Combined with the greatness of the soil the buds were very potent. Obviously a poor grow for outdoor standards but a definite surprise for me and my cousin and some serious brain candy. Knocked out a couple of my friends already. The final yield we never weighted it, but my share lasted like 4 months smoking regularly.

I hope i didn't extend myself too much, this island is my nirvana and something i greatly treasure. I find my duty to show people how beautiful this world is, as well as my country.
This year's grow is much more prepared, we will try to give it more time to veg before summer starts, its gonna be great =). If anybody has any questions about the grow or the island please ask. I encourage everybody to visit this place it is magical. Some more eye candy:
