Awesome thread, I just read all 20 pages. A few quick questions, Im considering doing a GG in 2011.

How far do you typically hike in? Do any of you ride a mtn bike in?

If your spot is off a hiking trail, how far off that trail do you go before your site?

I dont think Id have a watersource, would digging 4 reservoirs lined with plastic work? I would do this right now so it has all winter to fill.

My soil would probly be very hard, just dig it up and loosen/aerate it? Do you just use a camping shovel?

Id be using clones, what method is used to transport them?

I'll probly come up with some more questions soon, thanks in advance guys.

All the plants are doing great. I pulled the last two males last weekend so I have 9 females to take into harvest.
It's about a 20 minute hike into my spot. I use a mountain bike to get there and ride it as far as I can into the bush. There really no public walking trails near my spot.
Your reservoir idea sounds pretty good. I was actually thinking of doing something similar myself if I wouldent have been able to find a location with a nearby water source.
For digging I used one of those little 2 1/2 foot long shovels from Walmart. I just took the two nails out of the end holding the blade in place, drilled out the holes all the way through and put a bolt/nut in there to make it collapsable and able to be transported in a backpack.
You should probably amend your soil with something like coir fiber to loosen it.
You can transplant clones just like any other plant, once they have a good set of roots established.
Good luck to ya...

Planning on it, things have been pretty hectic lately and I haven't been able to keep up on this thread like I would have liked. I have 9 females budding nicely and I will try to get some pics up soon.
