  • yeah i feel you man. everyday is usually the same thing over and over but its another day. more to enjoy. i got a new cfl phase going. posted it here. Going good. I know you'll have something to feed this year.
whats up sacred and man wtf have u been up 2? i got a new growing inside for now until it goes outside in a couple weeks.
Well said. And all I meant is that great growers are all over the country, and plenty of them too, but because we're medical over here, we have a large fairly open community and consequently a much higher density of great growers because information and technique can be shared much easier without worry of incarceration. Mad respect to non-med state growers simply for taking the inherent risk.

    Stay safe, brother.
    Peace.
I suppose vocabulary and semantics are exactly our problem. But when you are talking to most growers IRL, especially out here on the west coast where there are tons of very good growers who have been doing it for a very long time, the term flushing means exactly what I'm saying in my mind and theirs. But really it's a moot point. You're free to use whatever word you want. :)

Anyhow, the ground soil does have some naturally occurring salts, sure. But those aren't present in significant amounts like in a container/hydro grow with synths. By the time autumn rolls around, the naturally occurring salts in the ground have been absorbed by the root ball and used for growth already. Unless of course the soil where you're growing outdoor is really crappy. In that case, use containers. lol

    Take care, bro.
And as far as the buffet analogy in relation to an outdoor plant, because the ground soil is also organic and contains no salt ferts (hopefully, anyway), the plant will only take what it needs and will stop eating toward the end of its life cycle. It seemed as if that was unclear seeing as how you asked that question regarding outdoor plants. Again, chem growing and organics are two very different things, especially outdoor where the plant is thriving in a totally natural environment.

Anyhow, it's been nice jabbering with you. Stay safe. http://www.rollitup.images/smilies/redeyesmoke.gif
I don't wanna keep shitting all over Subcool's Daily Bud thread, so I figure we can talk in PMs.

I think we have a different perception of flushing. Cutting off nutes is just that. Stopping the feed so the plant can finish on its own. That is most certainly not flushing because you are watering with your regular volume of water at the rate of your regular watering schedule, watering only as much as the plant needs and only when it needs it. On the other hand, flushing is a method used to leech salts from a medium by using at least the volume of the container, if not two to three times as much, until you reach a runoff of near 0 TDS. Flushing should only be used when a plant is overfed and/or experiencing pH lockout from salt buildup. Again, if you keep from feeding too much you will never experience salt buildup and will never have to flush. Flushing is not even close to the same as cutting the feed to finish. Apples and bowling balls, brother. Flushing should be an emergency method.
Hey man, I would grow outdoors. But isn't it too late for that? I thought you could only start outdoor grows in spring season. I'm in Indiana btw.
