Biodynamic Compost

i unfortunately don't have the space/luxury for/of being able to do my own compost, but 'have a found an online resource for mailorder biodynamic compost ==> http://www.naturalscienceorganics.com/nsoproducts.html

by way of endorsement, i'll quote a recent chat i've been having with s.c.mtn.hillbilly (a prime biodynamic gardener on these boards), that this compost will be "better than anything other than homemade... compost tea is the cat's meow—pure magic! it's a game changer to be sure. so get the molasses and the fish tank pump and 5 gal bucket."

i'll be using BD compost in my terra preta grow experiment and am eagerly anticipating the results!

i got some samples of biodynamic compost from a recent horticulture show. the stuff sounds real promising but i'm still unclear... what exactly is it? do you use it in conjunction with tea brewing or do you mix it in the soil? how is it different from standard organic soil?

as to the "what" of BD compost and how it's different from organic practices, here are some good places to start ==> http://attra.ncat.org/attra-pub/biodynamic.html , ==> http://www.oregonbd.org/Class/class.htm

in a nutshell, it's a compost formulation that relies on particular innoculants to achieve a superlatively high degree of potency... there's a bit of voodoo perhaps in how it's all achieved, but BD compost has been shown to have significantly higher levels of beneficial microbial activity than other 'standard' organic preparations.

it may be used as a soil amendment, for top-dressing, and to make tea.
