Hey guys, WaffleKing here, so ive heard around the interwebs that you cannot clone a clonned plant, but isnt a clone an exact genetic copy of the mother? If thats true then why wouldnt you be able to clone one, if they are the same thing it shouldnt matter if it was grown from seed or not. So basically, i wanna hear yalls opinions on the matter, your answers will actually help me decide how im going to do my cycle, i really hope a clonned plant can be cloned because that would make my life allot easier, thanks guys!

yes certainly you can and everyone does. nothing bad will come from a clone of of a clone they will all be like the initial parent.

I'm somewhere between 12-15 generations away from my original mother plant. Been cloning clones for a few years with no ill effects.

then im assumign you have done it yourself, logically thinking it should be no problem, and potency shouldnt go down either

i rarely keep mothers around for lack of room instead i clone of from clones to keep the cycle going and it has always worked fine for myself.

awesome, thanks guys, my life is going to be so much easier now, was affraid id loose this good strain i have going atm

no potency will not go down. only after many generations of cloning and keeping the same moms and clones should the clone start to loose it's vigor and then usually in the form of less resistance to stress and pests, mold and such.

I'm on the 3rd generation of a clone only strain.....that is probably on its 100th generation by now overall......so yes, it makes life a lot easier for me every day.

Define many generations. Because exodus cheese has been cloned and cloned for something like 30 years, yet remains a strain almost impervious to stress. People have tried e erything, and have been unable to make it Hermie for some fem seeds

OG.....how many years now? Green Crack Cush....how many years now?

Thin Mint, even though there are S1's dropping everywhere it seems they were made from the clone of the clone of the clone.

Im deff going to be cloning from clones now, its just smarter than having a mother, waste of power and lights you could be using for your other girls. maybe if you were trying to grow ALLOT for like selling or something, but personal medical grows dint need it i dont think

Only reason to keep a mother instead of cloning from clones, is if it's a hard to come by strain, that you would rather not lose. Having a mother adds a significant safety barrier.

No that's incorrect. The genetics of the old clone do not lose vigor or mold/pest resistance. What causes this is the poor health of the mother plant at the time you took the cutting. To avoid this ,always turn over mums every 2-3 months(start a new one) as they become old ,woody, harder to clone, gnats in the rootmass, salt build up and other issues.
The clones will always be the same as the original mother even after a million generations.
