Need Help First Grow A11+CaliHaze

Hi, fellow rollitup members!!

I am a new grower/gardener and I have decided to start taking things a little more serous now that I am able too. I am posting this thread to look for any advice that can be given to help this grow go as smooth as possible. So I decided to build my very own grow room out of wood. Its dimensions are 2ft x 3.5ft x 6ft, leaving roughly 1.6ft x 2.8ft to grow with. I was currently under hard times with money so I decided that I would build the grow room and try to maintain a few plants at the same time.
Ive come to the conclusion that this is very hard to do especially when you don't have much of a idea of what you are doing. Anyway I got the essential parts of the room built with minor difficulties, and thats the frame with the plastic covering, intake, outtake, and where the light will hang. I was unable to find the plastic material that was reflective so I used a clear plastic paint tarp to cover the frame and then covered that clear tarp with another black tarp of the same material. I recently found out they sell the reflective plastic I was looking for at a local horticulture garden shop not to far away. I intend on getting some when I get some more cash.
The whole I idea of this grow was to run a operation of 1-2 plants while the supplies were being added to the grow room. Prior in the year I had gotten ahold of some Apollo 11 seeds from a online distributor thinking I was gonna be able to grow but plans fell through. So I kept the seeds and just now am able to use them. Also I acquired some Cali Haze seeds from a local and kept them as well.
During the construction of the grow room the 2 seeds, 1 of each the Apollo 11(A11) and the Cali Haze(CaliXX), were being germinated. Eventually the room came together and I now have 2 seedlings, 1 of each. The CaliXX germinated first and the A11 a day after. I am currently using the following:

Ventilation
6in Duct booster -Exhaust (top)
2 4in bathroom exhaust fans- (Intake)
I still have not figured out how to handle the smell of the plants. I am currently saving for possibly a carbon filter which I would attach to the duct booster.
Various Oscillating clip fans (strategically placed)
Lighting
150watt hps (main light source)
Various CFLs 20-30watt (strategically placed)
Recently acquired a 2 tube T12 fixture and intend on using a T8 30watt (intend on using once plants are bigger)

Medium
Canna Coco
A+B nutes
Perlite

Temperatures in the grow box are right around 82 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and night 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Ive been reading alot from a book by Jorge Cervantes called M. Horticulture: The Indoor Outdoor Medical Growers Bible gathering information and checklists to maintain a healthy grow. However I dont want to be limited to just that source so I decided to start threading my grow just incase there were problems that were not addressed in the book. I currently lost my camera so pictures will be delayed until I can get a hold of a camera. This will be my first Serous grow and I intend on only getting better and better with every grow. I currently have 9 A11 seeds and 9 Calixx seeds waiting for germination after I feel comfortable with the way the grow room is turning out. For now I will hope that these 2 seedlings become females so I can see the full integrity of this make shift grow room. I am open to any ideas to help this grow room be successful. Any advice????

I am also a little confused on how to use this canna nutes just because people say to use different amounts all the time. So I started my seedlings out with 5ml of each A and B for right now and have seen no problems. Also Ive been reading about different types of nutes made by canna but I am unsure what would be best. What ones should I get and when should I use them and how much is preferable? Money sound not be a problem soon and I have full intentions on providing as much care as needed for these plants.

One Last question... With the space I have to grow in, I was wondering on how to approach the style of grow. I have decided not to scrog because it would be to hard to deal with especially with my little experience and knowledge of growing . I plan on attempting Scrog with the next grow. As far as this grow goes...how should I prune it, should I prune it? Increasing yield would be amazing if possible.

Thanks fellow RIU users
Any advice is appreciated.

temps are good space is good , u could probly grow 4 plants in there if there indica dom.as for cfls i wouldnt waste your time get a HID,if your growin in soil DO NOT use any canna nutes until there atleast 2-3 weelks old.if u only wanna by canna nutes all u really need is a+b VEG a+b Flower. scrog is easy mate theres nothing to it just put up some wire mesh and put your stems individually into each hole so they have room for the light to penetrate. pm me if u need anymore help

So Far the plants are looking good. It does seem as if they are stretching a little but the Cali haze is for sure a Sativa plant the true leaves are fat and it is growing like wildfire. The A11 is looking good as well just the tips of the leaves are crinkled a tad... I raised the light, and double checked the ph of the water I am giving them and it seems fine. I posted a thread asking the reasons why the leaves would be crinkling at the ends so hopefully there is some answers in there. What kind of HID should I get and should I use the Hps while Im at it???? Also Im a little confused on where to put the thermometers... I put one near the plants for a minute and it says its pushing around 90 under the light but near the intake its 82 and away from the light 83ish. Where should I place these thermometers???

i have 2 thermometers one on the floor and one at canopy level.your calia-haze is sativa but has fat leaves? sativas have thin leaves.HID lights are hps and metal halids. for that space i would get maybe a 400watt ballast.

Its a Indica sorry I got them mixed up in the form. Things have been hectic for me lately. The apollo11 is a Sativa mainly, I did read that it is a mix but is mainly sativa. Will this make things difficult having two different strains?? I know Sativas grow much larger then a Indica. Thanks for the advice.

I would veg them long enough to take a snip off each one, code and clone. I use colored thumb tacks for coding. Then after everything is sorted after the seedlings are budded you can take the best clone to be your new mom and bud the rest. After the mom is a year old there is no longer a need for veg time for the new clones that come off her.

Sup nggaface. babies looking real nice. As for the cali haze hazes are sativas so your haze should be more sativa dominant even being a hybrid. anyways they are looking real nice. As for now your doing well. its in your photoperiod were you have to worry. They must be loving that new light. How many watts? im also curious to know how much ur temps have gone up since adding the new light? How big do you plan on growing these girls? What is your goal as far as yields are concerned? I would like to be able to further assist you. Please give me some more info. Im just thinking that for this grow space maybe 2 plants will be the limit. Remember that plants need space to grow. I am not a big fan of sog or scrog as you can see my monsters in my thread also for a beginner as your self it will be easier to care for to big plants vs 20 smaller plants.Think of this two 4 x 4 tents per say, one with 2 plants and a 1000 and one with 20 plants and a 1000 your yields will be pretty much the same so why have to care for so many more plants (sorry sog and scgor lover just my opinion) yeah your sativas will stretch but they will also get wide if you let them and your indicas are always smaller bushy plants these are all things you gotta consider your hieght is good but putting more plants just means you have have to make longer plants. Ive experienced that for small grow spaces its better to grow maybe ruderallis or auto flowers look into this.

To answer some of your questions the new light is a T8 30watt and with the new light temps are good because Winter is rolling into town. Usually running right around 80 degrees now!!! Also I was unaware that Cali-haze and other hazes were Sativa....That must explain why people are not really posting on my form lol. Probably think I am full of it. lol. Anyway I had a issue with the Apollo 11 and sadly it turned out male:sad::sad:. I think it had to do with the genetics because The leaves were coming out half yellow and half green. VERY WEIRD!! No one seemed to know what that was all about. Hardly anyone on this site has ever had this problem so I was just going off my own judgment. Anyway here are a few pix right before I made hash out of the poor guy.:sad: There are a few pix of the rootball if any one was interested...

Okay, now that I got the Poor Old Apollo male out of the way and had a few hits of what it would of tasted like, its time to talk about the Cali. I'm just gonna call it Cali just because I know for a fact that there are clear signs of Indica Dominance.

So its Day 25!!! Three more days and I will be sending this bad girl into Flower!!! She is precious and beautiful :-o(you like, yes?). Here are some pics I have taken along with a pic of the thermometer for those that were curious about the temp/humidity. :-P:-P:-P:-P:-P

Should make some nice clones!!! Of course then I would have to wait another week or so to be sure not to stress the girl out. Just ordered my mother keeper and should arrive within a few days SO EXCITED!!! :hump::hump:

I am also in the process of Germinating more apollo11 as I speak so YIPPY SKIPPY:hump:
