Alright guys, I know there must be dozens of threads like this, but I kinda felt like I stole streetlegal's "Who Needs help?" thread, sorry bout' that man...so I decided to start my own! haha...Bare in mind, I have some, but very limited knowledge and experience with soil...but I'll do my best to help everyone I can!

Thanks...

yes if you live in a legal state or if you have it shipped to a safe address (other than grow location)

Sorry couldn't resist, I'm stoned and bored

It's all good, it's actually an honor to have such a great and experienced grower like yourself, answering questions on my thread! haha...

i want to start growing in hydro and i've decided to go with the waterfarm complete single bucket system for starters. the closest hydro store is two and half hours away from where i live so i've been trying to put together a list of things i need to get before i go on my road trip. so far i have got this:
1" rockwool cubes to start my seeds
"drip clean" to help prevent salt build-ups
digital PH meter
PH up and down
and of course the hydro system of choice...(which comes with hydroton, 3 part series flora nutes, air pump, drip column, ect.)

i'm a little tight on money and would rather wait on a RO system and the extras that aren't necessarily needed(i'm trying to keep it as low cost as possible)
so i have a couple questions..is a PPM reader absolutely necessary? and is there anything here that you see i am missing and would def need?
+rep for some good help and advice
thanks!

I have grown w/o a PPM meter, and w/great results, but if you have the money for it, why not!? It takes the guess work out of nutrient mixing and allows you to accurately give the plant what it needs...it'll also help to tell you if you should top off your reservoir w/ pure water or just add some more nutrient solution...
as for the second question...do you already have any means of reading temperature and humidity? Like a hygrometer or something? This is absolutely neccesary if you wanna start a successful hydro crop! Well, that's all I can think of for the time being, but I'll definitely get back to you if something pops into my head! GL!

If uneven node plant how to count the nodes for topping :)

Let´s say we count each uneven part as a node itself (not pairs)

If plant then has 2,5 feet height and 7-8 "nodes"... too late to top?
ps not flowering

No, it isn't too late(as long as it's not in flower) you can still top, but if you do, the 2 tops will not be at the same height because of the alternating nodes...
