You should stray away from anything that involves heat because it degrades THC. Plus the quick dry would leave your budz tasting green.

Hey B

I backed you on this one bro.

You never know unless you try that is my motto.

If you take a small nug and try it whats the worst that can happen?

Exactly.

I have tried the envelope on the ballast quick dry (wasnt too bad bit harsh tho)

Nothing like the finished product was for aroma and flavour.

But like i said if you want to try it, just try it at least you will know one way or the other.

We all know its not going to be ideal because the ideal is dry for a long time and cure for even longer.

The accepted wisdom about drying weed is that the slower the better concerning potency and taste.

My prediction is that your buds will be harsh and taste like chlorophyll.

But, if you're used to low quality brick weed, then you won't be missing anything I guess.

You should check out this theory call "Drying and Curing", it's some pretty neat stuff.

I used a dehydrator to quick dry a few buds for a fishin trip,it took longer than I exspected it to the taste wasnt the greatest but when your in a pinch you gotta do what you gotta do,mine doesnt get hot it only gets to around 110 deg or so depending on room temp,I would only use it if you have to,cureing is much better. good luck

The lowest temperature setting I have ever seen on a food dehydrator is 85 degrees and the hottest setting I have seen is 158 degrees. At temperatures over 80 degrees THC begins to break down and at 85 degrees or higher the breakdown speeds up.

I would Pasadena on drying in a food dehydrator myself.

Can anyone give BT +rep or has everybody else maxed out on repping him. Brick Top is one of the few posters here that i will take anything he says as virtual Cannon.

Yes I know better but I think the following sums up my feelings:

To answer my original question, not too bad but still bad, have to agree with what we already knew and now i can attest to personally.

here is the report:

6.7g wet
Dry in the ronco jerky drier 24hrs couple hrs on then a couple off.
1.0g dry (bud was really dry no moisture but the stem was still flexible)

On a 1-10 scale
Appearance 6
Smell 4
Taste 3
High 5 (very heady as expected confirmed not ready to harvest)
Overall 3.9

Bottom line.... Has a good beat but you can't dance to it.

The unit might be useful without the heating element and a small fan on top.

i would recommend this if someone put a gun to your head for a 24hr drying method but not for quality Bud.
