am i doing okay?

HEY ALL!
im just a newb who
planted a few seeds a month or so back,
ive began to enjoy growing since i started my first grow (this one).
they currently look like this, i know theyre stretched, and i now have the pots filled all the way up with soil,
i was just wondering how they look and what i can do about the stretching,
i havent used fertilizer yet, mainly because i dont want to over fert them.
give them about 9 hours of light a day, i have a fan-cooled aquarium light that is rather large, it seems to put a nice "white-light" on them and they do look healthy so i think its going nice.

All I can say is read up bro. For what you got going now, I think you're getting what you put into it. If I can add: I think you might want to thicken up the stems by putting a nice little fan on them. At the very least kinda push the plant around a little w/ your own hands as often as you can daily.
If you don't want to vest more time or money into this little project, then you shouldn't expect very much out of this. I'd say you're doing alright for now. I mean they look healthy.
I would highly recommend reading up on growing some dank shit tho

Houston I think we have a problem. Why are we only giving our plants 1/2 of the hours of light they need, do we just want to stretch them more or what? VV

I don't think the 9 hour light would kill them. It's pretty close to Autumn standards. I never tried it tho, and it looked healthy. That's why I didn't say anything on that matter. It wouldn't kill it, but you won't get any bomb buds, that's for sure.

9 hours wouldn't kill it.. but the additional 9 hours of light probably would have helped it growing more compact.... maybe its the distance of the lights or the amount of lumens also...

Thanks, since i posted those pics i realized (thanks to this page) the lighting times; (18/6-12/12) and these are the updated photos. today is March 11, 2009 and as of this morning i began the flowering cycle hopefully this wasnt too soon, id say these plants are atleast 2 months vegetated.

the plants look healthy to me although they will double or triple in size during flowering. I suggest you make sur you have enough light for the entire plant maybe look into LST

the pots are too small to continue and you will suffer rootbound and your light is either too far away or not good for the job.
once the plants start to grow flowers they will be even more top heavy.
transplant them now and bury them up to their necks in soil before flowering/growing any further.

man if u go to like bi-mart or somethin and get urself some 26 watt 2700k bulbs for flowering put them as close to the plant as possible without burning and put them everywere this should help out alot. there cheap too like $3 a pop. u will notice a big difference. maybe even through in some 6500k down under the canopy.

ok, i just transplanted them into pots about twice in size, i appreciate the advice so far, it is still the first day of flowering, how long until i start to see some changes?

aaa thats what my first gorw looked like lol tall as hell and poor lighting..........easy remedy get clamp lights from homedepo and cfls from there as well

Heres mine with the 2x 24" T5 flourescents kept 3 -4 inches for the top of the plant. This pic is 3 weeks from seed. Pro Blend 3 2 1 for ferts.

i've been spraying seltzer water on them 3-4 times a day for co2

Seltzer water is right on the money, you must of been watching youtube.

If you can, go to lowes and grab a bathroom light fixture and some Y splitters so you get a total of 6 bulbs in a 3 bulb fixture. Its only 9 bucks and easy to wire up. If you do end up using the clamp lamp i would still grab a Y splitter because I went from 1 bulb to 5 and WOW in a little over a day i saw a ton of growth. I was also doing 24 hours of light.

It takes about a week of flowering to see bud sites forming sometimes quicker. Although you should see your overall growth thank you for the new pots within 24 hours. Also i would try to LST those plants with your new light setup.
