if you realy want to look see wots going on with your germinating seeds, try kitchen/toilet paper and place seeds in a small folded piece keep moist and w8 for the seeds to germinate. you will see the tap rootpop out and grow in search of nutrients and water, but this will cause stunted growth...

i would say the light being too far awaz\y from the plant has added to streach, but if a pure sative or mainly sativa dominant strain the plant will have greater internode length
