    compost tea, last how long!

You've got those a little flip-flopped my friend, bacteria do replicate extremely fast thus a shorter brew means more hyphae. Tim is definitely the world's authority on AACT, support the man by buying a brewer ^_^. If you wanna boost your fungal count, its best to go back even further and ensure...

    compost tea, last how long!

An air stone in a 5 gallon is far from adequate dissolved oxygen, brew time affect's the current microbial life in the tea. Most tea's start out fungal dominant and by +24 the bacteria begin taking over. Essentially, you want a stronger bacterial tea in veg, a stronger fungal tea in flower to...

newb/intermediate soil mix need help please :D

With properly cycled organic soil, there is very little risk of burning...but if you must have another mix, I'd go with just your base mix (Peat, Compost, Aeration) and maybe throw in a little kelp. Assuming you've got quality compost, it'll be more than enough to get em their legs. Dressings...

newb/intermediate soil mix need help please :D

If that mix above is what you have sitting, then you'll do fine. 'Super Soil' is what subnoob calls his organic mix, for branding/marketing purposes. Any medium with aeration and dry ammendments is 'super soil'

Organics Done Right: Time to pay some bills!

For the sake of actually getting this done and without carpal tunnel I'm gonna speak vaguely and short, do please ask questions; Step 1: Shopping List A: Medium - Peat is an excellent medium, not very sustainable, but useful none the less. When selecting a brand of peat, make sure it is...

    Organic Nutrients and Mold?

Yes it is, really any fermentation product should show a little network on top. Be wary when it begins to smell like vinegar...this is a sign that all available sugars have been consumed and the nute is beginning to become an alcohol.

    Does silica kill beneficials?

The earth contains roughly 30% silica, its available throughout the entirety of a plants life. It will not destroy microbial life because it's not a salt, most common form is potassium silicate. You can certainly over do it so use sparingly...or you can ammend your soil with par boiled rice...

    My Soil Recipe

Appreciate the input man, allow me to explain even further. Azomite is a rock dust, as is glacial rock, granite, really any sedimentary rock. They work to both provide micro's and......as a home for fungal hyphae! The fungus attaches to the rock dust and use it as an anchor, allowing hyphae...

    Subs super soil question

Organic soil requires a constant saturation level for microbial activity so you never want bone dry..I think its still up for debate when cooking soil.. I store my soil in totes that are pre-drilled with multitudes of air holes, I then store with the lid half on so to give a much slower wet/dry...

    Azomite trace elements question!

Of course it is, full mineralization and cytokins seems beneficial to me ;)

    Azomite trace elements question!

Rock Dust.....hmmmmm......guess I'll try to explain.... Rock dusts such as glacial rock, azomite, granite, or really any igneous work will work for mineralization AND it's primary function in organic soil...as a home for fungal hyphae. In order for the hyphae to grow, they must establish an...
