    Intake fan

Negative pressure is only really desirable if you are concerned about odors... The advantages of using a filtered intake/makeup air fan (to create a positive pressure) include: 1. Not having your tent walls cave in due to the negative pressure 2. Knowing that all of the air entering the tent...

    2x600w hps in 2x1m tent...overkill?

Be careful with the venting to outside as far as the associated pulling in air from ??? You can bring in pests unknowingly like this. I had this issue and wish I had prevented it. ...Ideally intake air would be filtered, but of course this is not possible in many cases due to cost/setup/etc...

CO2 in curing area for mold/mycotoxin prevention?

Anyone using CO2 in their curing room/area for mycotoxin prevention? I've heard this works... but have yet to try it or hear from anyone who has... Apparently mycotoxins need oxygen to proliferate - an article I read said replacing some oxygen with CO2 or Nitrogen gas helps significantly...

Anyone else taken Harley Smith's 12-week course?

I've watched all of Harley's videos at least 2-3 times and was wondering if the classes (which they charge for) are just redundant to the info that he has on youtube (which is free). I guess the live/interactive aspect of it would be neat - and you could ask him questions directly. I've leached...

Lets be honest and talk about microbes there use, affects and cost

I used to use Mammoth P for microbes, but switched to powdered due to (liquid) Mammoth P never looking or smelling the same... I now run NPK Grow and Bloom Microbes (in a soil/less DTW) - if you want bacillus, they've got it (multiple species) in large quantities:

    Cloudy nutrients and low pH

The general hydroponics pH kit with the test solution and vial would be my recommendation. What pH up are you using?

    Cloudy nutrients and low pH

I agree on the measurement likely being inaccurate. I like to use the testing solution rather than wondering if my meter is properly calibrated. 1.6 sounds more like an EC reading

    20 hour days (10/10 cycle)?

I also would be wary of trying this just based on it being so out of the ordinary. But I also like to stay curiously optimistic, especially with out-of-the-box ideas. I know most growers that find any success are very difficult to pry away from their set ways. I found another thread that...

    20 hour days (10/10 cycle)?

I'm wondering if there is a point of diminishing returns when it comes to the duration of light that a plant gets during flowering. I wouldn't imagine it would be a linear relationship... In other words, if you broke the 12 hour light period in flower down the middle, do you think an equal...

    Light cycle

For flowering, ever consider shortening the length of a 'day' - say, to 20 hours? 10on/10off? - I've been trying to find info on this and cant seem to find any. Of course the lights would come on 4 hours earlier each day, which is not ideal, but it seems this method could shorten flowering times...

    20 hour days (10/10 cycle)?

I've heard a lot of growers talk about altering the 12/12 cycle - but usually it is still a 24 hour day (i.e. 13/11, etc). Assuming relatively little growth occurs at the end of the light or dark cycles, it seems it would be feasible to shorten the length of BOTH and ultimately shave days or...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

You may already know but this is important to remember: Guaranteed analysis only needs to show the minimum amount guaranteed by the manufacturer, so this is a way for companies to 'protect' their products from being reverse-engineered.

Make your own Sweet for less than 1 dollar a gallon

Why does the root zone 'open up'? during maturation? ...so you are saying the plant somehow becomes able to uptake complex carbs at some point? I can't find anything anywhere else that corroborates this. I like how the guy in the video says toward the end that the products ALSO feed the...
