Welcome on board man!! This shit is addictive.... almost as much as smokin it! lol...

You def dont want to fuck with the Grow Net (The plastic you are talking about). The roots will grow off to the sides and wiggle down through that hole.... you dont need to cut the sponge down either.... unless its those brown lookin longer ones.... those you can def cut down... but TRUST me.. you will not have any root growth issues .. LEAVE IT AS IS..... GOOD LUCK!
