It is not a question of if this is possible. I guarantee you there are commercial growers using some variation of this technique as we speak to keep physical interaction with a grow site (or multiple grow sites) to the bare minimum.

Not sure if your lights are in that position for the photo.. but they need to be about 2.5 - 3 feet closer to your plants. Look at how they are already stretching. You can put LED's WAY closer than you can HID.
