If CalMag is locked or deficient then it may affect other elements, but I was under the impression that eagles claw was from Nitrogen overdose...even tho that is impossible in my case.

In week 4 of 12/12, 15 plants, 50-55%RH, on a flood table, some affected some not. Temps never above 81 or below 65. Res temp at 65 with a chiller. GH 3 part, tap water, pH, DM Zone, 1.5ml/35gal Physan20, monster bloom 1/2 strength. I have not run over 1000ppm yet as I was battling brown slime...

Anyone else have a take on Insect Frass?

Ive been using Insect Frass in conjunction with the normal formula. About 1 tsp per 2.5 gallon, it goes in in small pieces (almost resembles mosquito dunk pieces); but, it is completely consumed in 48 hours. Pretty cool stuff. I notice a lot more heady foam in the tea and a strong earthy smell...

just dont use the protekt or the green bottle of gro. if you did it right they have enough N from the veg stage to sustain flowering. :D

Yes and No. brown algae eats silica and nitrates. Microscopic means you cannot see it. The "silica dust" was a bad analogy, the hydroton adds "dissolved silica" to the nutrient in minuscule amounts and it might also be found in your water supply.The nitrate comes from your N nutrient, whatever...

You say you have specific days that you water, i am almost positive this is the problem. Plants dont need water on a specific schedule, and some will drink more then others. They need to go through wet and dry cycles. Yours are either under or over watered (probably over). Do you test your plant...

I personally do not like cool tubes. I use all magnum XXXL 6 inch vented hoods and they dont get much over ambient temps but if i had to do it again I would buy parabolic hoods. I have to cooling units, and I have the space to go up.
