  • Haha, truth be told I've never soldered before in my life :P I've seen others do it though it appears to be pretty easy so I'm not too concerned with that.

So what I've came up with so far is that I need to solder the LEDs together in a series and not a parallel. Not too sure but that seems more logical than parallels to me.
For supplies I'll be getting a PCB board, a really small one to start off, 12v power supply, 5 blue LEDs, 5 red, and 5 white. To go along with that I'm sure I'll need resistors and wire. I was thinking I would just place them in 5 sets of 3, and then connect the positive and negative to a wire connected to all of the LEDs and then take those wires and wire them up to the power supply? I've seen a few DIY tutorials on youtube and I've seen them talk about voltage regulators. No clue at all about those and if I'll need them with resistors or not. Next message I'll post specs of LEDs and resistors so you can double check? Thanks :)
Hey hey, I stumbled across the thread you created offering help with wiring and electrical issues. I haven't read most of it for it being so many pages long, but I was wondering if you could help me out with creating my own LED panel? (I understand the basics with series and parallels and whatnot but when it comes down to wiring all the series together and to the power supply I get a little lost haha)

First wanna start off with a little 10-15 LED unit just to make sure I am able minded enough to make one :P

So if you could kindly help me out it would be very appreciated! Thanks!
This is a crazy request, but where did you get this bug? I want to down load it in my partenters screen saver to drive him nuts. We are bug crazy right now. Thanks
Question for you: Am I better off ordering like biobizz all mix online with some biobizz nutes then going to home depot and getting the potting soil, bloodmeal, bonemeal, and perlite??
hey there 5toned i got a question for ya. im a nubie so bare with me.. my roomate has a 150w hps bulb that can screw into what looks like any other light socket but wont turn on, i know its because i need to get a ballast ( very new word to me ) so my question is where would i get what i need for my closet grow (check out profile for pics if yo want) and i am in college so naturally broke. anything would be greatly appreciated!! thanks man!
I am not on this site very much but I have followed your thread for awhile. I just want to commend you for all of your efforts here, I'm sure it's alot of work/time. I have benefited from advice you have given me and others and I just want to say THANKS MUCH!
Saw your offering of elec help. Question, could I run a 400w hps, 3 ft 4 tube flour, 6in inline booster fan to cool HPS, 4" inline fan attached to can filter, 2 -6" muffin fans for intake, 1 4" circulation fan and 2 water pumps for flower and veg on a 20 amp circuit? Thx in advance!
the 30 amp box im useing is a grow box it converts 120v to 220v i can plug 4 1ooo watts in it.the box is made out of plastic with a built in timer.and inside there is a metal lug nut that your suppose to put the ground wire in.but the existing 30 amp laundry wires only have three wires .red white and black.can i subsitute the white wire(neutral)for the ground and put it in the metal lug that the ground is suppose to be in.
is the box the 30amp laundry outlet is in made out of metal, or plastic? if its made out of metal you can round the ground wire from the subpanel to a screw in the box. if its not metal, you definitly cannot use the white as a ground, oing so will energize the can and candoor and anything you have plugged in to the subpanel, and you dont want that.
hello i have a ? u might be able to help me out with im trying to hook up a 30 amp box to an existing laundry wire that is also rated for 30 amps.it has three wires red black and white theres no ground wire.can i use the white wire for the or no.and thanks for the add
could be, if not that a bad lamp. if theres 80-100v on the socket, then its the ignitor. if theres 0 voltage on the socket, its more than likely the ballast
1000w analog hps ballast. Entire story is it was put into bathub full of water. Took it out and let it dry out for six months, when it was put in the tub, cords were cut. I have fashoned new cords. At first bulb came on and ran for a three hour test. Now no light. Ballast stills bizz's like it's on but it's not. I pulled the guts out of
my light and made a new verticle mount as opposed to horizontal which it was before. Is this a bad ignitor
    Hey, thanks!

    I have 2 questions:
If I have been running 20/4 could i switch it up to 24?
With topping, what does that exactly do?
Hello, I saw in a post that you had a CFL Grow set up of 184 watts or 4 x 46 watts. I have my first indoor grow room right now, I used to grow outside, and I have three bulbs going that at are 26 watt. These is all for one plant; lights are close, reflected and on 20hrs a day.

    What was your setup like?
hello mate, see you are interested in regeneration of plants, check my albums or brainstorm regeneration thread, im flowering for the second time.
you've gotten me so many times with the animated gif in your sig... stoned or not im like wtf i have fleas? +rep
