    Auto Outdoor Winter Experiment

Oh yeah, been there:), with branches at least:) I do it while the plant is young. And I’m careful. My philosophy is the fewer cuts the better…

    Auto Outdoor Winter Experiment

I had a couple of Northern Lights auto seeds for last couple of years. I’ve only grown photo seeds indoors, or outdoors during summer/fall here in SoCal. I thought I’d experiment with the autos outdoors here, where about as cold as it gets is about 40 degrees at night with occasional high 30’s...

    Seed Bank Grow

Been getting fem Seeds from Seed Bank for last couple of years and found the genetics to be really good (100% germ, dank, frosty buds regardless of strain, consistent, etc). So decided to do an all Seed Bank Grow, with 3 GSC, 2 Platinum Cookies and 2 GDP. Coco in 3g fabric pots; using AN...

    What Strains Are You Growing?

If it is like the original Gold from the mid 70’s, you really scored. Good Colombian Gold was $50/oz back then- super tight little nugs. Gold to hay colored. It was the first weed I smoked that had that killer expansion. It was so expensive we’d roll “pinners” and those toothpick joints would...

    Pot size.

By maximizing root growth to fill the cup, then a 1g, then to a final 5g, let’s say, you get the biggest, most established root system, and in general, bigger and denser root ball means bigger and denser plants. Putting a plant from a solo cup to a 5g pot directly also creates risk of over or...

    What Strains Are You Growing?

I’ve been using Seed Bank seeds and the genetics has been really good, so decided to do an all Seed Bank grow. I’m doing GSC, Platinum Cookies and GDP in coco in my 4x4. Using two new Sayhon LEDs plus some extra red. Day 36 of flower, and canopy is pretty awesome…

On average, how much % of your harvest is lost to carerpillars?

In SoCal, over last 4 summers I have had to battle caterpillars which cased bud rot. First season, before I learned about Monterey BT, I lost about 8 oz out of a final yield of about 45oz off of three plants (18%). The next year, I used MBT, but a little too late, and lost about 5 oz out of...

    Will this cheaper LED work?

FYI…First week of flower with my new set up of 2 Sayhon (not Phlizon- my error) 2000 watt LED boards with IR, UV, quality heat sink design and a dimmer as well… only 33 days of veg from seed, check out the 18”+ canopy. I also use a G8 red and another red for flower. With all of this light, temps...

    Will this cheaper LED work?

I spaced- it is Sayhon, not Phlizon- but I’m sure have the same view, being from China. But the diodes are good quality, the PAR and other numbers are decent, and just under 4 weeks from seeds popping in my first grow under two lights totaling 4000 led/440 watts from the wall, the canopy is...

    Will this cheaper LED work?

Who doesn’t like to try newer technology? Let he among us still using the same light from 5 years ago cast the first stone. I have the $, so who cares. What’s your point? My point stands that paying twice or three times as much for an LED light might bring better stats and slightly better...

    Will this cheaper LED work?

People get all high and mighty, with “I use X light; Y light is crap and only good for veg” sorts of virtue signaling comments when it comes to lighting. I would never deny that LED light quality can vary a lot, but for past 3 years I have used King LED, Viparspectra, and now Phlizon LED lights...

    Outdoor LST help

Yes, the old top at the 5th (or 7th) node and bend at 45 degree method is fantastic. Once those branches turn up and grow, then just top them when the time is right to get your 8-12-16-20-? Colas you desire. Less stress and stunting of early growth than traditional manifolding method. You’re on it!

    Outdoor Flowering Help Needed

Praying Mantis. You can see his heart shaped head at bottom, like he is upside down. Always a welcome sight. They kill bugs and do not eat the plant. Plus they look so cool...like little aliens or something.

    Outdoor Flowering Help Needed

OB, you did great to get those buds with that challenging technique. Bravo. The moths treated your beautiful buds as a birthing center...you are well on your way. Lots to learn, a super fun hobby, and sites like this show you how much we like to help. Things will stick along the way, and that...
