it requires a 55 gallon drum (12$) two 5 gallon buckets per plant ($2.50 each at walmart),the controller KIT or PRE-MADE (120-199$), two water pumps, a roll of black poly tubing, some fittings from the hydro shop, an air pump and air stone, and the hydroton rock.

the kit and pre made controller that makes your pumps work and empties the bckets to and from the drum are sold here:

lemme know if i can help
    Hello,
I have a few things working already. I have two 3x3 ebb and flow tables that I veg in. Each holds 16 square pots and plants.
I have one ebb and grow diy bucket system for half of my flower room. It is 55 gallon drum and 16 3.5 gallon black buckets. These buckets have inner buckets with drain holes, as well.

I am about to build the second bucket system for the other half of the room. Why? Because I want to harvest once a month. That means the systems are staggered and will need different nutes at different times. If I didn't want to do it this way, I could simply attach 32 buckets to the system I already have.

The system looks and works exactly like the CAP Custom Automated Products Ebb and Gro or really the Ebb Monster. (one is bigger than the other, but they work the same.) So you can actually get info from anyone who grows in one of those systems.

The medium is straight up hydroton expanded clay balls.
