super soil mix with amendments that are available in australia

If your city, or town has a website, the information on water can usually be found there. Rainwater is best, though.

    seeking soil advice

I'm noticing a calcium deficiency in one strain (some brown spots on older leaves and yellowing of edges on new leaves) - will top dress with dolomitic lime, work it in the top layer and hope it clears out before flowering... The other strains seem fine at the moment, but they will also get...

    amending as you go?

Great post, and to be honest, relieved me of a great amount of stress, for I'm also giving organics a go as a first grow. Question regarding the rock dust; I saw posts where people would add loads (cupS) of the stuff to their mix (for a cu. ft. = 7gallons), but the Gaia glacial rock dust calls...

    amending as you go?

Hit up the vermicomposting thread! https://www.rollitup.org/t/vermicomposters-unite-official-worm-farmers-thread.637587/ Basically, the worms will move in layers, towards the food source. So, once your bin is full, get your next bin ready, put some gloves on - move the worms/food layer on one...

Thanks for steering me in some form of direction. I have access to 25 gal. hard plastic pots - does it make that big a difference? Could one put 2 plants per pot? I've looked into making lactic acid bacteria (lactobacillus) - it's cheap and looks easy to make, so I'll try myself at that...

    Vero29 build. First build ever.

Also a first builder - got the HLG-320H-1400 to run 6x Vero 29. Also from R.LED. I also got the the encased pot and it dims the lights to a point (still pretty bright) and the driver shuts off completely within 5% of the edge of the potentiometer. Is this a case of a 350k vs 100k pot? I...

    seeking soil advice

This is exactly the advice i was seeking. The few seeds I cracked are in promix with myco at the moment. Sheep/Cow/Poultry manures are available at the store. I can also get my hands on horse manure compost (mixed with straw for at least a year) and rabbit manure (pure). Any of these...

Wanting to make no till. I've been reading for about a month, but the time has come to start activating a batch, so to the best of my knowledge I came up with a list, and figured i'd come to the community for advice. I don't have access to all the fancy stuff, like the guanos; mostly all...

    Spacing between COBs

For spacing, spread them evenly over the area you've input in the calculator, and allow half that spacing around the edges of your canopy. A square array provides the most even coverage. Wall reflection makes a good difference around the edges. Maybe consider hanging some white material...

    Spacing between COBs

Depends on the model and at which current you are driving them. There is a ppfd calculator on the forums; https://www.rollitup.org/t/diy-cob-led-calculator.890214/ I've heard anything above 1000ppfd is useless without CO2.

    Bastard seeds

placing a plate on top has been a clear "no-no" from CKS' instructions. they're now in a paper tower, on a plate, wrapped in a dark fabric shopping bag, sitting in an open room. i've also started soaking another batch of seeds...

    Bastard seeds

i had soaked them in water overnight prior to have put them in the paper towel and opened plastic bag... according to some sources (which seem to have completely different approaches) [1] [2], here's what I determined went wrong... - heating mat is deffinitely too hot. - i had placed them in...

    Bastard seeds

Someone gave me seeds from a neglected grow (great white, strain). I've put them in a moist paper towel inside a ventilated plastic bag, and have been there 3 days with no sign of them cracking open. I put the bag over an electric warming bed made for seedlings, but wonder if that was too...

    Carbon?

Yeah, I had access to large 15 gallon hard plastic tubs, but when I read about the fabric bags auto pruning the roots, and that they would not build up against the inside walls of the container, I was sold on the idea. I might even sew my next bags myself out of some geotextile fabric...
