  • Ill have it up soon im not sure how the pins are set up on that one so you might need to take apart the plug to see what pins are connected to what if you dont already know. Let me know how it turns out!
Yeah theres plenty of rockers and shit all over the place. I just wanted that because it almost cuts wiring in half and allows me to use a smaller box and fit everything better. Only person i know is @humboldtenail on instagram. but they all work the same off of the PID algorithm so besides the autotune and how to select it its basically the same. Go to aubers site and look up the manual to them and give em a good read. Youll kinda get an understanding of how everything works. Theyre really simple in the end.
Yupp it should all work out well. Cant wait for the coils to get here. I sell em for around 80 but i use UPS because theyre the only delivery people i trust and their shipping is usually a pretty penny but more than worth it. Even fedex fucks up hard. If ups says on or before X date they mean it and alot of times its before. When fedex or usps say that its usually 2-3 days after that. And thats if the expected date isnt a friday/saturday. loosin extra days haha

But enough about that. The SSR and pid will work fine. I recently saw someone using the exact same power inlet+fuse+on/off switch so my slight worries of it blowing ten amp fuses is about gone.

Get to postin shit so we can pm haha or it might be a time thing.
No problem! if you look at the diy e-nail thread i set up you can see the coils im getting. they were supposed to be in yesterday but werent so probably today.

theres the link. i think theyre 5 foot, braided SS sheathing i can do about 100 a piece with free shipping but if you want more than one i can knock some off the price. If you want full bulk orders i can let you talk to the man himself and theyre a good amount cheaper. Its just expensive shipping so it doesnt make sense to order less than 5 haha.

Join the discussion on the thread if you want!
but if you could send a pic of the coil. I would like to see it honestly I would probably be interested in one to vigorously test before I got at least 10 at a time once I know its reliable (no offense I'm just the type to test everything) because I was looking into bulk ordering from alibaba also but I would rather deal with someone like me who just want to hook up their friends for a third of what scam artist are charging. I also love how just the nail if infinity would be the same price as everything combined so I'm trying to find the perfect nail also. back to researching haha
yea I had found the controller searching for high quality USA pid and after a long time I felt confident with it. I honestly would put trust with xlr or mini because of the reliability shown with live concerts.
Thanks alot for replying so quick. we are in the exact same boat as of right now and I actually just spent way too long researching the heat sink and it seems like we really won't be needing it for what we are doing because everything will be working at 50% once it is heated up so that's good to know. I agree with the USA parts also you definitely get what you pay for I read about so many knocked off ssr from good brands I just want to avoid as much as possible. how much are you looking for the coils. and could you send me a pic of the new c nail if you have it. thanks
I also have coils for sale if you need them. They are very high quality ones, not the average alibaba ones you can get online. We actually know the people over in china making them. I wouldnt say that theyre "extended life" like the Dnail claims but they are the highest quality we could make after several months of searching for the best coil design/materials.

Very reasonable prices compared to the d-nail site as well.

Sorry this was so long but i couldnt figure out where to send you a private message i think because youre so new.
I welcome any input and like i said message me whenever and we can exchange knowledge. I definitely need help tuning the controller and even getting it into auto tune. Ive read the manual a few times but i really dont want to ruin any of the coils/thermocouples.

Other than that i will be waiting until i have all my internals and everything working before i decide on a case because i have no idea the exact size of everything needed or how it will fit.

I was planning on using an xlr as well or possibly a mini XLR because ive seen people start to use those lately. Look alot like a din but slightly different.
Lately ive been considering putting a heat sink on the SSR. 90% of people say you dont need to and im fairly confident i dont need to because its heating such a small coil vs a kiln or oven or something larger so the voltage required to get it hot and keep it hot isnt usually enough to cause the SSR to reach a hot enough temperature to need one.

But from what ive seen people have found some smaller ones to make "mini enails" which is how i found the controller im going to go with. ive researched to find them and havent turned up much but they seem like a regular old SSR just mini andi assume they may cause less heat since theyre so much smaller and dont look like theyre made to get rid of large amounts of heat.
Hey! Whats up. Ive been wanting to make these things for a while and just recently got investors. My coils should be here today as well!!

Im open to any information swapping possible. Im in this to sell them but only to supply those who dont have the time/effort to assemble one for a more than reasonable price.

As for the SSR to use they have the ones in the DIY reddit that are about 7 bucks. i think theyre 75-320 volts or something like that. I was planning on using the ones from auber just because i figured theyd be of slightly higher quality. Not 100% sure they are but they are US made so the few extra bucks is worth it and im already getting the controller from there so im already paying shipping. those are rated for 85-420 or 450 volts. cant remember exactly. Either way the PID/coil consume a minimum of 80 or 90 so the minimum mark is right where it needs to be on both SSRs and shouldnt cause any trouble.
