PH is one of the most important things to keep an eye on in my opinion. You may want to look into a R/O filter if you water is junk...

My soil ph hovers around 5.9-6.5 depending.... Get a PH meter if you don't have one. Flush the pots with 3x the amount of water witn your ph at 6.4 ph... Check the run off to make sure it's doing it's job.
